The rely on internal combustion engines is gradually decreased with the recent evolution of electric vehicles (EVs) in automotive industry. Nowadays the World faces critical issues, such as increasing population, power costs, and global warming. In this respect, scientists are trying to improve efficiency of energy harvesting. The enhancement generation sectors is focused on waste heat recovery systems based thermoelectric generators (TEGs) that have demonstrated capacity transfer thermal directly into electric via Seebeck effect. This paper investigates a ground-cooled organic Rankine cycle (ORC) for waste heat recovery from diesel generator. The ambient and ground temperatures used in the current study are based on real-time data collected experimental measurements. ANSYS Mechanical APDL was to simulate effect of proposed system order calculate soil thermal interference radius. In addition, simulation compared two scenarios: with without phase change material. Based results, required loop size calculated using Engineering Equation Solver (EES). economic feasibility investigated, considering both basic regenerative ORCs. original rated output power generator considered this 30 kW. results showed that radius length were 0.32 m 1480 m, respectively. ORC system, design operating temperature 300 °C, enhanced overall by 7.98%, alone. Replacement increased enhancement up 15.31%. capital cost payback period ranges £11,945–18,770 4.9–7.8 years, respectively, while those £17,062–25,592 3.7–5.5 years.
