Purpose
The

global

The
issue
of
corporate
rent-seeking,
which
stems
from
the
misuse
authority,
remains
a
critical
concern
for
international
community.
Drawing
on
agency
theory
and
resource
dependence
theory,
this
study
explores
relationship
between
digitalization
strategies
(DSs)
rent-seeking.
We
test
our
theoretical
hypotheses
by
utilizing
panel
data
encompassing
Chinese
A-share
listed
companies
2004
to
2021.
Our
findings
suggest
that
DSs
have
significant
negative
influence
Several
robustness
tests
support
conclusion.
Moreover,
analysis
indicates
DS
is
particularly
effective
in
curtailing
rent-seeking
behaviors
within
state-owned
enterprises
(SOEs)
compared
with
their
non-state-owned
counterparts.
However,
contrary
hypothesis,
less
suppressing
among
firms
where
executive
team
has
legal
backgrounds.
These
top
managers,
especially
SOEs,
should
prioritize
early
formulation
digital
transformation

behavior.

are
often

Recent
research
has
explored
the
potential
impacts
of
