Abstract Photoelectrochemical (PEC) technology is a promising strategy that can directly convert sunlight into chemical energy. Direct solar water splitting through the PEC process desirable method for green hydrogen (H 2 ) production. This has also potential to capture CO and it fuels using water, besides converting N H O produce ammonia (NH 3 ), which acts as transportable storage. The cracking of NH be accomplished technology. Despite improved performance having been shown, stability, efficiency, scalability issues still need resolved. Even so, much clean sustainable solution addressing global energy environmental challenges.
