ABSTRACT The dynamic landscape of consumer behavior is pressuring companies to adapt rapidly evolving expectations. burgeoning interest in the supply chain management (SCM) literature toward consumer‐centric research capturing attention scholars and sparking diverse calls action. While a significant growth SCM has centered on consumers as unit analysis over past decade, it remains necessary improve understanding how role actors within evolved. We aim enhance by conducting systematic review that summarizes synthesizes studies focus analysis. Our encompasses 174 articles from 16 leading journals. bundle based two key trajectories: (i) major functions involved activities, (ii) phases customer journey. To synthesize literature, we develop framework following elements: factors influencing SCM, resultant consumer‐related outcomes, (iii) retail structures. Based review, propose agenda serves basis for advancing identifying questions are relevant practitioners.

A paradigm shift from a linear economy to circular is crucial reduce pressure on the environment and improve security of supply primary raw materials. Under this new paradigm, governed by imperatives "reduce, reuse, recycle", extraction resources minimised extending useful life existing This paper seeks identify drivers barriers circularisation provide guidance for effective policies hasten transition it. The innovative contribution made area research empirical evidence it provides role played economic, social, environmental factors in economy. To achieve this, yearly data 2010 2019, panel 19 European Union countries were analysed employing Panel-Corrected Standard Errors estimator, which was shown be an appropriate estimator data's characteristics. material use rate used as proxy main findings suggest that age distribution country significant predictor Older people tend reluctant change their behaviour, while young are more inclined move away so-called 'take-make-waste' extractive industrial model. Policies directed older sensibilize them benefits importance thus required. When per capita income increases, propensity accept products containing recycled materials decreases. finding merits particular attention policymakers. In turn, inequality makes moving toward difficult. Those middle-income bracket likely exhibit green implies they aware issues.

High rates of resource consumption and waste generation have put pressure on environmental systems one the solutions to this concerning behavior is a circular bioeconomy (CBE). However, for CBE succeed, new businesses business models are needed, which many drawbacks might be faced. Therefore, article aimed (i) identify drivers, opportunities, challenges, barriers in both from theoretical practical perspectives, (ii) present regional differences those aspects different continents. A mixed-method approach was adopted, comprising systematic literature review semi-structured interviews with 32 organizations 18 countries 4 continents (Africa, America, Australia, Europe). Eight twenty as well fifteen drivers eight opportunities were identified. The main barrier challenge pointed out by stakeholders lack financial resources/capital, price competitiveness traditional/linear product offers. most prominent driver opportunity establishment public policies/governmental support, recovery. Regional CBEs (by continent) also Advancing requires setting strategies overcome developing and/or making adequate technology available locally, enabling traditional (linear non-renewable-based) options. This study unveils series managerial implications. There risk rebound effects, such becoming mainstream feedstock bioproducts being introduced market low-price strategies, thus triggering increased consumption. Premium pricing need considered bio-based products (compared non-bio-based products). Moreover, technological development plays role driving innovation, pioneers lead policies. For succeed there needs further greater connection among actors value chain, converging resilient CBE.

Plastic pollution has adverse effects on the ecosystem and human body. Bioplastics might provide an alternative to plastic for environmentally friendly consumers. A systematic literature review was conducted analyze summarize state of art regarding consumers' response bioplastics using a hierarchy model. The model holistically represents relevant steps in understanding journey from stimuli behavioral stage. based 67 scientific journal articles consumer studies related published English language (all peer-reviewed). Most researched bioplastic packaging applications e.g., food beverage quantitative surveys. Many focused preferences willingness pay bioplastics, while awareness, knowledge, post-purchase behavior—usage disposal—was least researched. applied text or oral rarely real product stimuli. results synthesis pointed out some purchasing barriers e.g. low knowledge about environmental impact, characteristics such as material source end-of-life character bioplastics; uncertainty recognition versus conventional plastics. Drivers are also identified, instance positive attitude, available information green value. Bioplastic products meeting price, biogenic resource base, local origin act drivers. Studies found that influences pay. revealed research gaps, highlighting particular need cross-cultural studies, non-hypothetical designs analysis labelling systems products.

Construction projects using emerging bio-based materials have been realized over the past ten to fifteen years within Europe. Bio-based buildings utilize properties of natural regulate internal environments, particularly fluctuations in temperature and relative humidity. Despite individual exemplar demonstrating functional performance long-term operational cost savings, there hasn't a proliferation commercial or domestic projects. With growing shift towards circular economy construction, could be readily adopted meet this development. This study evaluates barriers faced by materials, making upscaling production breakthrough into mainstream construction challenging. Evaluation was achieved through senior professionals with experience participating semi-structured interviews based on core categories finance, knowledge, policy. Challenges include manufacturers inconsistencies life cycle assessment, material certification accreditation, vested interests industry, concerns regarding initial costs, availability, knowledge products. Potential solutions for are identified increased case studies, positive legislation, regional economic regeneration, wellness agenda, sustainability, engagement established companies. insight has informed procurement process, evaluation, adoption
