Closed-loop supply chains, incorporating circular economic principles, play a key role in enhancing the sustainability of production systems and creating opportunities for firms. In today's business environment, characterized by frequent disruptions, these need to be both efficient resilient remain competitive. However, integrating efficiency resilience is not straightforward task. This manuscript discusses control engineering as promising approach understand closed-loop chain resilience. It enables analysis propagation disruptions (the ripple effect), thus aiding managerial decision-making. We use an example demonstrate potential theory improving chains.

Several digital technologies are available to facilitate the transition toward a circular supply chain infrastructure. Small-Medium Enterprises (SMEs) should assess their readiness and measure performance select most appropriate technology. This study explores how well-established such as Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Manufacturing (CM), Big Data Analytics (BDA) impact infrastructure in SMEs. Questionnaires have been distributed collect employees' preferences concerning management criteria (profit, innovation, sustainability, optimization). The responses organized into three clusters using Principal Component Analysis (PCA). A fuzzy Technique for Order Performance by Similarity Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) technique is adopted evaluate these since it constitutes reliable managerial tool when vagueness impacts smooth operation chain. Results indicate ranking order investigated (CPS>IoT>CM>BDA) well benefits attributes imparted upon implementing technologies. Such provided on economy. Lastly, perspective selection process affected other factors, enterprise's extroversion level its internal structure, discussed.

The transition to a circular economy can be undermined by rebound effects, which could mean secondary production does not fully displace virgin raw materials. So called 'circular rebound' is under examined in the academic literature and thus requires greater attention if it successfully estimated mitigated decision policy makers. Accordingly, this paper undertakes systematic review of methods that have been deployed measure effects all types identifies those quantitative tools yet utilised nascent area but application context. In so doing, also reflects on data needs different methods, as well magnitude rebounds identified potential mitigating strategies. Findings suggest clear research gaps within identify areas estimation specifically benefit from wider body work assessment.

Amid global climate challenges, loss of biodiversity and resource depletion firms must act for sustainable performance (SP) future well-being. It is crucial to understand the underlying mechanisms that enhance SP. This study aims examine impact supply chain management (SSCM), circular economy (CE), on SP in Bangladesh's green garment industry. Employing a quantitative research design, we tested hypothesized structural model using data from 303 managers collected through surveys. The Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS SEM) statistical method was utilized hypotheses. results indicate SSCM positively impacts CE SP, mediates SSCM-SP link. contributes literature by enhancing Natural Resource-Based View theory, presenting SSCM-CE as resources findings hold valuable implications RMG policymaking practitioners.

Purpose Supply chain finance is an emergent research area dealing with the financial performance of a firm throughout its supply chain. It has been drawing significant attention among industrial practitioners and researchers. However, there need to identify improvements in (SCF) practices ensure sustainable growth. In recent years, circular economy are being adopted worldwide motivation achieve 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Moreover, integration aspects still infant age. Purpose At present, relevant studies on circular supply chains are gradually increasing. However, the majority only focus precautions or obstacles in implementation of chains, rather than delving deeper into decarbonization processes within chains. Therefore, this study took rubber recycling industry as an example, highlighting manufacturing process for remanufactured products industry. Subsequently, a feasible framework future practice was established, serving valuable reference companies Design/methodology/approach This first selected key factors from initial aspects and criteria using fuzzy Delphi method (FDM), followed by ranking importance decision-making trail evaluating laboratory (FDEMATEL). Findings has confirmed which directions need to move toward so achieve goal when implementing The main include environmental, social economic benefits well value recovery. In addition, cooperating with different chain partners, having effective reverse logistics systems, collaborating multiple companies, optimizing technology developing industrial symbiosis network. Research limitations/implications results vary due differences. Although can be used other high-pollution industries, they unable perfectly line their current states. more in-depth research is needed aspect industries. Purpose This study aimed to understand how path dependence affects the supply chain (SC) circularity trajectory in a food cooperative SC. Design/methodology/approach To elaborate on theory, we conducted single case of SC using data gathered from four years sustainability reports and semi-structured interviews with multiple respondents allow for triangulation. Findings We found that examined was affected by dependence, including formation context. Path is based cooperativism principles (e.g. democratic control), while context linked circular actions adopted this community-based configuration. For instance, management packaging waste disposal are continuously learnt because two lock-ins specific capabilities developed trajectory. Practical implications Recognising event sequencing will help managers adopt economy (CE) boost their trajectories. Originality/value Unlike previous research, elaborated theory Such perspective emphasised limitations rationale linear performance added new insights into further introduction journey towards CE transition.

Paramount to the transition circular economy is transformation of existing supply chains. We build on theory chain study design features and enabling role information financial flows needed for circularity. five exemplars environmental leadership illuminate how material are enabled by leverage cross-industry waste (i.e., open loops) customer returns closed loops). While both loop designs can lead a bottom-up towards economy, there differences in played outward inward flows. Further, we unpack supporting toward customers, suppliers non-supply stakeholders creating viable demand market wider community which be embedded.
