Titanium (Ti) and its alloys have been widely employed in aeronautical, petrochemical, medical fields owing to their fascinating advantages terms of mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, biocompatibility, so on. However, Ti face many challenges, if they work severe or more complex environments. The surface is always the origin failure for workpieces, which influences performance degradation service life. To improve properties function, modification becomes common process alloys. present article reviews technology development laser cladding on alloys, according technology, materials, coating function. Generally, parameters auxiliary could influence temperature distribution elements diffusion molten pool, basically determines microstructure properties. matrix reinforced phases play an important role coating, can increase hardness, strength, wear oxidation excessive addition particles deteriorate ductility, thus balance between functional basic should be considered during design chemical composition coatings. Despite ongoing optimization of WC-Co Direct Energy Deposition-based cladding, the deposition multilayer coating is currently challenging. Pores and cracks that extended along deposit thickness have been always observed in medium-large coatings. The change substrate from steel to hard metal deposition, replaces all thermal characteristics dilution modes. This study looks into ways improve quality multilayers for cutting application by remelting between subsequent layers. In order define key process parameters identify effects remelting, coatings are first examined a single-track single-layer simplified condition. These initial tests demonstrate reduces porosity "white layer" microstructural modification. configuration was then examined, thorough analysis microstructure revealed an enrichment Fe-Co-C elements surface advantageous second layer. Carbon nanotubes (CNTs), as a kind of nanopowder, can be used reinforcing powder to improve various properties coatings because their good self-lubricating and three-dimensional structure. However, CNTs are difficult mix uniformly with other powders due easily disrupted microstructure extremely low density. Therefore, CoCrFeNiMn HEA 2 wt.% were mixed by new mixing method—alcohol stirring ball-less ball mill methods. /2 prepared laser cladding (LC). The phase composition, microstructure, wear resistance, corrosion resistance the HEA/CNTs coating analyzed characterization techniques. results showed that grain refinement occurred in after adding CNTs, generating fine carbides. It was calculated densification percentage increased porosity decreased. Compared coating, microhardness 101.66%, friction coefficient rate only 63.30% 6.22% coating. more positive Ecorr smaller Icorr indicated has better resistance.
