Abstract Children's interpretations of parenting behaviors offer valuable insights into cultural meanings parenting. This study examined how Chinese urban and rural children interpreted six different types parental responses to children's negative emotions (PRCNE), which have traditionally been identified as supportive (e.g., emotion‐focused responses, problem‐focused expressive encouragement ) versus nonsupportive ones minimization, distress, punitive in Western cultures. Based on surveyed samples 976 children, demographically matched 102 ( M age = 14.23 years) 100 14.38 were generated for analysis, using propensity score matching (PSM). Results revealed that compared with rated more normative, whereas distress less normative. Additionally, evaluated , minimization negative, positive than children. In communities, most positively least negatively, followed by lastly . The findings highlight the diverse towards PRCNE across contexts.

Individual interviews were conducted with a total of 66 participants from five groups between May and November 2020: left-behind children, parents, teachers, principals, community workers. The children group included 16 primary secondary school students aged 10–16. Themes in the interviews’ data identified based on Grounded Theory. Left-behind children’s social maladjustment manifested as: (1) depression loneliness; (2) poor academic performance. positive adjustment using adaptive coping strategies; life skills independence. is dynamic process has both negative aspects.

Background Family environmental factors are known to contribute adolescent suicidal ideation (SI), but how these interact and relate SI needs further investigation. Aims To examine family with each other associated in a psychiatric clinical setting, using network analysis regularization methods. Method Utilizing quantitative research design, this study analyzed data from 293 adolescents aged 12 18 years seeking care hospital. Data collection involved standardized interviews self-report measures assess SI, anxiety, depression, various factors. Network methods, including LASSO regression, was employed elucidate the relationships among variables. Results Over 40% of reported positive relationship quality(RQ) significantly reducing SI. indicated that economic status did not directly through RQ. Additionally, anxiety found mediate between RQ significantly, mediation effect 53.34%. Parental marital related whereas parental education level, particularly mothers’, or mental health outcomes. Conclusions This reveals complex interplay symptoms adolescents, highlighting quality as critical risk mechanism. These findings underscore importance family-centered interventions public policies reduce adolescents.

The United States (U.S.) Surgeon General Advisory has characterized the COVID-19 pandemic as a youth mental health crisis. Thus, elucidating factors affecting adolescents' during is important for supporting through current and future challenges. This study aimed to develop an educational-psychological manual for parenting after divorce based on positive and investigate its effectiveness emotion regulation. The research employed a mixed-method approach, incorporating qualitative phenomenology. population consisted of 16 custodial parents selected through purposive sampling from visitors family court complex in Tehran, employing semi-structured interviews. Data were analyzed using the seven-step process by Colaizzi. quantitative section was quasi-experimental pre-test post-test design. statistical 177 parents, whom 26 convenience who responded Shields Cicchetti Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (1997) whose children scored lower. These participants randomly assigned experimental control groups multivariate analysis covariance (MANCOVA). findings led 7 main themes 46 sub-themes. showed that developed has significant effect regulation (p < 0.001). Therefore, can be used emotional problems divorce.
