Abstract
Objectives
While
adverse
childhood
experiences
(ACEs)
have
been
shown
to
be
associated
with
adulthood
obesity,
less
is
known
about
their
association
underweight.
We
examined
the
associations
between
parental
absence
(i.e.,
a
major
component
of
ACEs)
and
both
underweight
excess
weight
among
middle‐aged
rural
community
dwellers
in
Vietnam,
where
was
not
uncommon
during

Vietnam
War
(1955–1975).

Disease
burden
associated
with
cardiovascular
diseases
(CVDs)
in
low-
and
middle-income
countries

Hòa
Cardiovascular
Study,

prospective
cohort
study
among
middle-aged
community
dwellers
rural
Hòa,
Vietnam.
A
total
3000
individuals,
aged
40–60
years
at
baseline,
participated

survey
conducted
from
June
2019
2020
will
be
followed
up
for
subsequent
10
years.
The
collected
information
sociodemographic
variables,
disease
history,
lifestyle,
social
environment,
mental
health
via
questionnaires,
physical
examinations,
biochemical
measurements.
Information
incidence
severe
outcomes
(i.e.,
mortality,
cancer)
using
study-specific
registry.
Results
showed
that
prevalences
excess
body
weight
(body
mass
index
≥25
kg/m
2
),
hypertension,
diabetes
mellitus,
dyslipidemia
were
25.9%,
39.6%,
10.2%,
45.1%,
respectively.
Furthermore,
by
March
2023,
21
participants
had
died,
including
5
CVD
deaths

cancer
deaths.

Abstract
Purpose
With
depression
and
anxiety
becoming
one
of
the
major
public
health
problems
in
China,
more
evidence
shows
long-lasting
negative
effects
adverse
childhood
experiences
(ACEs)
on
mental
health.
This
study
aimed
to
explore
ACE
exposure
patterns
Chinese
college
students
their
associations
with
adulthood.
Methods

cross-sectional
