Purpose This paper analyses the effects of NTFPs on food security in Burkina Faso. Design/methodology/approach The uses primary data randomly collected from 256 households. A Consolidated Approach Reporting Food Insecurity (CARI) was constructed as dependent variable, and ordered logistic model used for regression. Findings results show that short medium marketing channels reduce household insecurity. Practical implications suggest encouraging development (generally local) by developing local markets, cooperatives exchange platforms. Originality/value novelty this lies fact it analyzes link between through types NTFP (short, long). Agroforestry has been widely used in developing countries as a solution to mitigate the effects of climate variability. However, its significance well-being farmers rural communities not thoroughly investigated. The purpose this study was analyze contribution agroforestry practices (AFPs) farm income families, perceptions farmers, and factors that affect AFPs’ household Sodo Zuria district. optimal sample size 173 households from three sites selected through stratified random sampling procedure. Data were collected using structured interviews, focus group discussion, observation, key informant interviews. According findings, most research area had good perception benefits methods. yearly mean gross various approaches 15,990.90 ETB·ha−1·yr−1 for nonadopters 32,471.24 adopters, respectively. Tree fruit tree integration with crops, animals, or pastures potential significantly increase food production farmer economic situations. Multiple linear regression analysis indicated farm, number livestock, experience agroforestry, extension service adoption house positively, while family negatively affects it. plays critical role reducing poverty enhancing livelihood resilience (reducing farmers’ vulnerability variability). determining extent which is true challenging because both groups often have low levels assets such land income, limits planting reaping maximum agroforestry. As result, government other responsible entities should pay special attention assisting smallholder sustainability their livelihoods hampered by agricultural scarcity.

Food security is a paramount issue, particularly in developing nations like Ethiopia. Much of the existing research focuses on identifying factors and constraints households related to rural areas. However, little attention has been paid urban householders' food insecurity. To this end, study conducted Gondar evaluate household security, sampling 357 homes. Results revealed that 67% male-headed were secure 33% insecure, while 72% female-headed found insecure 28% secure. Tenants faced higher insecurity (77%) versus homeowners (12%). The Foster-Greer-Thorbecke model highlighted 53% incidence, 14% depth, 5.4% severity Tackling 15% calorie needs could eradicate it with proactive regional governance. Binary logistic modelling identified gender, homeownership, income, marital status, remittance, credit access as significant (p < 0.01). underscores need for tailored programs focusing stable pricing, housing, low-interest loans which are crucial addressing overcoming

A systematic random sampling technique used collect data from 150 randomly selected sample area. This primary secondary collected through interview schedules, focus group discussions (FGD), key informant interviews (KII), review various documents. Descriptive statistics analysis econometric methods were employed. revealed that 43.33% had security, while remaining 56.67% food-insecure. In addition this, results area different time shortages, including sale livestock, productive assets, receipt remittances or aid, participation small trade, reduction number meals, temporary migration, etc. Furthermore, binary logit model indicated education level, sex household, age household head, cultivable land size, access extension services, livestock ownership, credit services found positively significantly determine strengthen resilience insecurity, should be encouraged diversify income sources generate both capital social assets.

Despite significant progresses made as part of the 2030 sustainable development goals ambition, "zero hunger and malnutrition", global food insecurity malnutrition are rising. The purpose this study was to identify factors associated with livestock-crop mixed farm households' nutrition security outcomes in central eastern Ethiopia. In order achieve objective, primary data collected from 410 households across five districts were used. Monthly consumption expenditure per adult equivalent score (FCS) used capture multidimensional nature security. Descriptive statistics summarize key variables interest while econometric analysis household outcomes. finding reveals that 31.46% had monthly below poverty line, average FCS 59.34. models result educational level head access extension services positively probability being secure FCS. Also, total land owned secure, family size negatively it. further livestock off-farm and/or non-farm employment FCS, age crop loss Hence, findings emanating seem suggest policy makers partners interested reduction may focus on found be significantly

Household food insecurity persists in the KwaZulu-Natal Province, South Africa, despite significant contribution of agriculture to country’s economy. The role that combination crop production systems and value chains can play improving household security has yet be addressed. This paper examines combined effects on insecurity. A Principal Component Analysis (PCA) transformed correlated variables into three distinct domains, namely, modern agro-production practices, sustainable market integration, traditional knowledge. An Ordered Probit was used determine factors influence measured using Food Insecurity Access Scale (HFIAS) 300 randomly selected smallholder farmers. results showed knowledge focus, education, livestock ownership significantly negatively impact a household’s size, expenditure, cash credit, as well floods, positively affect its Policymakers stakeholders should prioritise integration preservation knowledge, while reducing costs, order combat
