Abstract Abstract: Anxiety and trauma-related disorders are some of the most commonly occurring mental health conditions have a significant impact on quality life and/or functioning. This chapter highlights evidence-based pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy, integrative interventions for common anxiety disorders, including generalized disorder, social panic post-traumatic stress disorder. First-line generally include selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors serotonin–norepinephrine inhibitors, as well cognitive–behavioral therapy approaches. However, patient preference, resources, access, clinical presentation factors such comorbidity must be considered when selecting treatment. Digital also offer alternatives to increase access scalability interventions. Future directions emphasis processes change mechanisms action, novel augmentation strategies, further optimize personalize disorders.

Abstract There are no reported randomized trials testing exercise versus an active comparator for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This clinical trial assessed the effectiveness of group psychoeducation to improve quality life and reduces symptomatic severity in Veterans with PTSD. who met criteria current PTSD (DSM-5) and/or endorsed moderate levels symptoms (CAPS 5 score ≥ 23) were randomly assigned treatment. Introduction This randomized controlled trial examined the effectiveness of physical activity added to an intensive trauma-focused treatment (TFT) for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in comparison adding non-physical control activities. Methods A total 119 patients with PTSD were randomly assigned a condition (PA; n = 59) or (nPA; 60). The 8-day TFT programme consisted daily prolonged exposure, EMDR therapy, and psychoeducation, which was complemented activities versus mixtures guided (creative) tasks. As primary outcome, change clinician self-reported symptoms from pre-to post-treatment at 6 months follow-up measured. Results Intent-to-treat linear mixed-effects models showed no significant differences between PA nPA conditions on severity. Clinician significantly decreased both conditions, large effect sizes (e.g., CAPS-5 d pre-post 2.28). At post-treatment, 80.0% PA, 82.7% longer met diagnostic criteria PTSD. Regarding loss Complex diagnoses this 92.5% 95.0%, respectively. Conclusion Either additional activities, is very effective (Complex) PTSD, as reflected by status groups. Abstract Systemic manipulations that enhance dopamine (DA) transmission around the time of fear extinction can strengthen and reduce conditioned relapse. Prior studies investigating brain regions where DA augments focus on targets mesolimbic mesocortical systems originating in ventral tegmental area, given role these neurons prediction error. The dorsal striatum (DS), a primary target nigrostriatal system substantia nigra (SN), is implicated behaviors beyond its canonical movement, such as reward punishment, goal-directed action, stimulus-response associations, but whether DS contributes to unknown. We have observed chemogenetic stimulation SN during prevents return contexts different from context, form relapse called renewal. This effect mimicked by D1 receptor (D1R) agonist injected into DS, thus implicating extinction. Contemporary healthcare for those experiencing mental illness requires practitioners (HCPs) to effectively incorporate the prescription of exercise in their treatment, accordance with clinical guidelines. However, there has been a lack effective implementation such recommendations. The purpose this review was identify barriers treatment people diagnosed as perceived by HCPs. APA PsycINFO, CINAHL, MEDLINE, and PubMed electronic databases were searched relevant articles published period from January 2005 September 2023. A total 18 papers included thematic synthesis. Four key themes identified across qualitative (8), quantitative (6), mixed method (4) papers, including knowledge confidence HCPs prescribing exercise; role responsibility; HCPs’ misconceptions client barriers; systemic issues impacting practices. or most common barrier. Some indicated desire develop skills prescription, while others preference an professional take responsibility aspect treatment. Systemic spread range issues, time, excessive workload, difficulties accessing qualified staff commonly cited. This provides further insight into faced makes recommendations regarding how address these order better implement guidelines thus improve quality provided illness.
