Effectiveness of a transdiagnostic indicated preventive intervention for adolescents at high risk for anxiety and depressive disorders

Abstract
Despite
ample
evidence
for
transdiagnostic
interventions
in
clinical
populations
and
universal
prevention
approaches,
there
are
only
a
few
controlled
trials
examining
their
role
indicated
prevention.
This
study
is
the
first
randomized
trial
to
assess
effectiveness
of
brief,
8-session
group
version
Unified
Protocol
Transdiagnostic
Treatment
Emotional
Disorders
Adolescents
(UP-A),
called
PROCARE-I
(Preventive
Intervention
at
Risk
Disorders-Indicated),
delivered
online,
including
booster
session,
reducing
symptoms
anxiety
depression
adolescents
compared
an
active
control
condition.
Sixty-four
(53%
identifying
as
female)
with
elevated
levels
and/or
were
randomly
assigned
either
8-week
or
Self-report,
parent,
clinician
measures
collected
before
after
interventions,
6-month
follow-up,
1
month
session.
After
intervention,
participants
showed
improved
scores
on
9
13
primary
secondary
outcome
measures,
reduction
mood
symptomatology,

risk

The
prevalence
of
anxiety
and
depression
problems
in
adolescents
is
increasing
currently
an
important
public
health
problem.The
aim
this
study
was
to
analyze,
through
a
systematic
review,
the
existing
selective
prevention
treatments
focused
on
treatment
symptoms
adolescents,
as
well
extent
their
effect
methodological
characteristics.Three
international
databases
were
used
study:
PsycINFO,
Pubmed
Medline.After
applying
eligibility
criteria,
five
studies
included
for
review.The
results
revealed
that
depression,
with
great
variability
terms
methodology
showing
moderate
levels
improvement
only
medium
long
term
follow-ups.In
conclusion,
there
need
expand
amount
research
focusing
emotional
children
from
transdiagnostic
approach
includes
follow-up
assessments.

Abstract
Few
studies
have
reported
long-term
follow-up
data
on
selective
preventive
interventions
for
adolescents.
No
transdiagnostic
adolescents
at-risk
emotional
disorders,
such
as
anxiety
and
depression,
been
reported.
To
fill
this
gap,
study
aims
to
provide
the
first
assessment
of
a
randomized
controlled
trial
(RCT)
studying
prevention
in
A
12-month
was
conducted
with
subjects
who
originally
received
either
PROCARE
(Preventive
intervention
Adolescents
at
Risk
Emotional
disorders),
PROCARE+,
which
includes
protocol
along
personalized
add-on
modules
or
an
active
control
condition
(ACC)
based
psychoeducation,
their
respective
booster
session
each
experimental
condition.
80
(47.5%
girls)
aged
between
12
18
years
(M
=
14.62;
SD
1.43)
completed
these
treatment
conditions
were
available
follow-up.
The
results
demonstrate
superior
efficacy
PROCARE+
mitigating
symptoms
obsessive–compulsive
symptomatology
compared
ACC
conditions,
effect
sizes
notably
exceeding
those
commonly
observed
programs.

three
treatments
demonstrated
beneficial
impacts,
pronounced
associated

Abstract
It
