In this study, we present a six-year (2014–2020) statistical analysis of VLF subionospheric propagation data at 19 receivers from the transmitter with call name JJI and frequency 22.2 kHz, all located in Japan. Moderate strong earthquakes (EQs) (ML≥4.5 depth ≤ 50 km) that occurred wider area around Japan during same time period available are investigated. The terminator times’ (TT) shift amplitude as possible precursor an EQ statistically examined, focusing on correlation seismic activity. concept effective magnitude (Meff) is used order to define total energy possibly affecting midpoint each path for day. It important note dates when geomagnetic storms or solar flares well corresponding already known winter effect TT statistics north–south direction were excluded. cross-correlation between anomalies activity, represented by Meff, was extracted. Maximum values found most cases prior subsequent indicating link ionospheric seismicity. Finally, wide temporal range maxima locations justified inhomogeneity lower ionosphere, coupled anisotropy preseismic impending seismicity, highlighting complexity preparation processes.
