The COVID-19 pandemic created a unique opportunity to examine health as function of multiple real-life stressors, especially in people with chronic disease. Early studies indicated that the had an impact on social, physical and emotional aspects life. This thesis examined mental during without illness. Psychological flexibility is assumed help dealing adverse circumstances. We whether what extend psychological played health-protecting role questionnaire was used assess might be shortened. five this yielded following main findings: Although patients Inflammatory Rheumatic Disease (IRD) were more worried stressed acute peak 2020 compared those IRD, their level well-being not lower before 2018. There no indication protective factor against deterioration health. Higher worry stress pandemic, having Central Sensitivity Syndrome (CSS) all associated severe somatic symptoms. However, association symptoms particularly strong CSS did buffer association. hypothesis augments CSS, confirmed by our research. women fibromyalgia persistently low, pain functioning even better during, pandemic. Especially prolonged phase 2021, young adults’ one exception: adults illness low flexibility, found phase, pre-pandemic phases. Factor analysis sixty items FIT-60 2-factor solution, representing ‘mindfulness acceptance’ dimension inflexibility ‘commitment behavior change’ which also represented succinct 18 item questionnaire: FIT-18. Overall, implies that, exception adults, perhaps mentally physically healthier than expected larger health-preserving worse times illness, hardly confirmed. suggests nuanced research needed, regarding interventions could support putting up life after

The negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on mental health has been extensively documented, while its possible positive individual, defined as Post-Traumatic Growth (PTG), much less investigated. present study examines association between PTG and socio-demographic aspects, pre-pandemic psychological adjustment, stressors directly linked to four factors theoretically implicated in change processes (core belief violation, meaning-making, vulnerability mortality perception). During second wave 680 medical patients completed an online survey direct indirect stressors, demographic information, post-traumatic growth, core meaning-making capacity, feelings perceptions personal mortality. Violation beliefs, mortality, illness positively correlated with growth. Moreover, diagnosis COVID-19, stronger violation greater ability, lower pre-existing predicted PTG. Finally, a moderating effect ability was found. clinical implications were discussed.

The first coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) wave and lockdown adversely affected the lives of people in diverse ways. This study used a person-centered approach to identify patterns engagement 12 psychological flexibility (PF) inflexibility (PI) processes manage COVID-19 hardships.A total 1035 Italian adults completed an online survey.Latent profile analyses conducted on PI/PF measured by Multidimensional Psychological Flexibility Inventory identified five profiles; three reflected gradations high low PF with corresponding inverse levels PI, while two represented more complex relationships between PI PF. After controlling for relevant socio-demographic COVID-19/lockdown factors, profiles differed mental health (depression, anxiety, distress). Essentially gradient progressive decreases all (except experiential avoidance) corresponded increments across profiles. Two profiles, which evidenced highest (highly flexible moderately profiles), also had greatest proportion sample 56.42% (n = 584), avoidance.Findings from this similar studies suggest intersecting among that are likely shift response changing contexts. We network is better three-dimensional PF/PI hexaflex than simplistic two-dimensional depiction model.Distinguishing different groups most at risk adverse impacts pandemic exposed variations protective roles processes, respectively, can inform ACT-based promotion interventions.

The COVID-19 pandemic was an unprecedented event that further stimulated the debate on concept of trauma. To increase knowledge about traumatic potential pandemic, main objective this study to identify, through a systematic literature review, factors associated with adaptive outcome post-traumatic growth caused by COVID-19. Studies were selected from PsychInfo, Embase, and PubMed databases, 29 articles included at end screening process. identified are different natures, including personal variables such as personality traits, coping, cognitive strategies used face adversity, interpersonal variables, one most important which is level social support. In addition, several results confirmed relationship between stress symptoms, well indices related psychological well-being. Finally, discussed comparing them those already present in literature, some explanatory models growth. regard, identified, maladaptive avoidance optimism, low-stress tolerance, suggest possibility process may also be characterized illusory dimension.

Introduction and objective Frailty is characterized by the body's increased susceptibility to stressors due aging a concurrent decline in its resilience. A dominant hypothesis suggests that oncological interventions may amplify this vulnerability. Consequently, elderly individuals with cancer pose challenges for conventional treatments. This research sought assess effects of radiotherapy (RT) on frailty patients utilizing Edmonton Frail Scale (EFS). Methods was designed as prospective observational study. Patients aged 65 older, receiving treatment at radiation oncology clinic, were asked complete EFS form both before end their RT course. The scores achieved after obtained, medical histories recorded. difference between pre- post-RT calculated subtracting score from pre-RT determine any increase or decrease score. For statistical evaluations, suite tests (including Shapiro-Wilk test, Kolmogorov-Smirnov paired sample t-test, independent t-tests, analysis variance {ANOVA}, Pearson correlation) implemented. All analyses conducted using Statistical Package Social Sciences (SPSS) software (version 29.0) (IBM SPSS Statistics, Armonk, NY). Results From April 2021 August 2023, total 121 participated Out these, 81 underwent assessments post-RT. median age 73; follow-up period five months. predominant diagnoses included prostate cancer, breast gynecological malignancies. significant proportion diagnosed stage IV palliative RT. Post-RT evaluations revealed some patients, while an observed others. Certain variations statistically significant. Moreover, inverse correlation discerned dose fraction number Conclusion Our confirmed substantial either experienced maintained stability observation might not exacerbate short term. Nevertheless, elucidate long-term impact frailty, there pressing need comprehensive assessment correlating survival rates.
