The low-carbon city pilot (LCCP) policy is an essential strategy for China to combat climate change, attain the carbon neutrality target, and achieve comprehensive green transformation, which will inevitably have impact on many areas of economic system. digital economy has given a new impetus development sustainable growth in China, becoming indicator transformation. Promoting economy's successful development. Does China's LCCP support while reducing energy use emissions? This study evaluates 277 cities from 2002 2019 using principal component analysis method employing difference-in-differences assess how affects growth. empirical results demonstrate that encourages growth, then promotes conclusion remains tenable following several robustness tests, including parallel trend, placebo, endogeneity tests. A heterogeneity demonstrates more profound influence coastal, non-resource-based, large-scale cities. mechanism test indicates positively by promoting technological innovation changing industrial structure. offers evidence can advance achievement
