Purpose
This
study
explores
the
role
of
human
resource
management
(HRM)
practices
in
advancing
sustainable
development
goals
(SDGs)
within
emerging
markets.
Specifically,
we
examine
how
HRM
financial
institutions
markets
India
and
China
promote
SDGs
8
(decent
work
economic
growth),
10
(reduced
inequalities)
13
(climate
action).
We
also
propose
a
framework
integrating
these
key
SDG
with
core
functions.
Design/methodology/approach
Secondary
data
analysis
was
employed
using
from
sustainability
reports
top
five
Indian
Chinese
banks
listed
Forbes
–
Global
(2000)
ranking
for
2022–2023.
These
were
analysed
based
on
their
reporting
indicators
Reporting
Initiative
GRI
400
series,
aligned

Findings
The
result
comparative
indicates
that
both
use
recruitment
selection,
rewards
payments,
workplace
health
safety,
training
to
meet
Regarding
disclosure
diversity,
equity
inclusion,
outperform
banks,
contribute
significantly

state-owned
initiatives

alignment
strategies
priorities
at
national
level,
highlighting
challenge

global
centralised

Abstract
In
the
context
of
“carbon
peaking
and
carbon
neutrality,”
companies
are
responsible
for
actively
reducing
emissions
achieving
a
balance
among
economic,
environmental,
social
benefits.
From
non‐economic
perspective,
this
study
chose
sample
9872
A‐share
manufacturing
listed
on
Shanghai
Shenzhen
Stock
Exchanges
from
2010
to
2019.
This
used
fixed‐effect
model
explore
mechanism
corporate
responsibility
(CSR)
its
three
sub‐dimensions
(shareholder
rights,
employee
contribution)
performance.
also
examined
mediating
government
subsidy
moderating
effects
internationalization
governance
as
internal
external
factors.
The
results
show
that:
(1)
CSR
can
significantly
improve
performance,
subsidies
play
partial
intermediary
role.
(2)
promotes
performance
firms
with
lower
levels
higher
levels.
(3)
Heterogeneous
conditions

impacts
