Purpose The hotel industry is one of the leading producers waste worldwide, and more than one-third that food. purpose this study to investigate managers' awareness sustainable circular practices, with a focus on their attitude toward perception food in Apulia, Southern Italy. region has tourist vocation, accounts for 3.3 million tourists per year plays key role Italian tourism. Design/methodology/approach was conducted using questionnaire administered ten managers located Apulia. In light Checkup Tool Speditivo, sustainability score indicates circularity, distinguishing between “beginner” (0–25 points), “concerned” (26–50 “proactivist” (51–75 points) “sustainable” (76–100 points). results have been analyzed descriptive statistic tools. ABSTRACT Research into how environmental management practices impact firm performance has largely overlooked the service sector's small and medium‐sized enterprises (SMEs). Drawing on industry, resource, institution‐based strategy perspectives, this study investigates adopting resource efficiency (RE) within framework of a circular economy ( CE ) supports European SMEs in achieving carbon neutrality (CN) reducing production costs (PCs). The also examines difficulties adapting to regulations among adopters, their associated performance, importance having CN strategy. A combined permutation test conducted 681 from 35 countries revealed––after controlling for sectoral differences––that without RE faced higher PCs, critical factor performance. Additionally, transportation storage with demonstrated greater adoption practices. Implications theory, practice, future research are discussed.

Purpose The global resolution of embracing dynamic and intertwined production systems has made it necessary to adopt viable like circular economy (CE) ensure excellency in the business. However, emerging countries, is challenging implement CE practices due existing problems supply chain network, as well vulnerable financial condition business after deadly hit COVID-19. main aim this research determine barriers implementing considering recent pandemic suggest strategies organizations for a cleaner environment greener economy. Design/methodology/approach After an extensive literature review validation from experts, 24 sub-barriers under class 6 are finalized by Pareto analysis, which further analyzed via best-worst method weight rank Further, fuzzy-Technique Order Preference Similarity Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) used proposed startegies overcome analysed barriers. Findings results identified “unavailability initial funding capital”, “need long time investment”, “lack integrating system using advance technology” strategic planning” most acute implementation. fuzzy TOPSIS best strategy mitigate ranked indicated “integrated design facility CE”, “ensuring large scale facility” strategy.
