Purpose The hotel industry is one of the leading producers waste worldwide, and more than one-third that food. purpose this study to investigate managers' awareness sustainable circular practices, with a focus on their attitude toward perception food in Apulia, Southern Italy. region has tourist vocation, accounts for 3.3 million tourists per year plays key role Italian tourism. Design/methodology/approach was conducted using questionnaire administered ten managers located Apulia. In light Checkup Tool Speditivo, sustainability score indicates circularity, distinguishing between “beginner” (0–25 points), “concerned” (26–50 “proactivist” (51–75 points) “sustainable” (76–100 points). results have been analyzed descriptive statistic tools. Findings average indicating level practices among Apulia 84, whereas associated management strategies 65. greater number stars, higher scores. However, rooms, lower strategies. Originality/value sheds main opportunities, barriers trends field management, highlighting commodities which are wasted most proposing further improve circularity hotels. To best authors' knowledge, first such topics Italy could represent basis future research topic.

The study provides an inclusive research landscape of the thematic trends and evolution in field metrics circular economy (CE), also outlines future perspectives circularity (C-metrics) by exploring relevant literature over period 2011–2023. This aims to bring further clarity wide pool available c-metrics orient research. In this regard, following questions are addressed: How has a CE evolved? What prominent themes recent C-metrics? And what sought-after areas C-metrics development? To achieve that, used data analysis qualitative content methods explore related scientific groundwork based on 544 articles from 187 journals As result, (i) six main identified; (ii) four mapped highlight role C-metrics-based tools performance assessment, design, monitoring reporting, database platforms; (iii) agenda for is proposed current challenges studied area, expert opinions, concerns derived EU regulations initiatives. findings provide better understanding production time clarify directions corresponding ongoing concerns.

This study endeavored to analyze the progress made meet Sustainable Development Goals in terms of resource use, sustainable production and consumption, triple planetary crisis (i.e., climate change, biodiversity loss, pollutant emissions) at national regional levels Asia. The highlighted that toward consumption is still not sufficient ambitious targets. An urgent need for a comprehensive approach address emissions, use has been ascertained. China’s greenhouse gas emissions have surged tremendously. India also endeavoring decouple from growth via renewable energy. Vulnerable Pakistan seeks emission reduction financial aid. Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam outline strategies. Land change emerges as key loss driver, stressing land policies conservation. Material highlights call optimization, circular economies, innovative technology. Energy’s role development requires decoupling through efficiency, renewables, eco-friendly paths. Freshwater needs careful management sustainability, international collaboration policy reform are urged global water efficiency. Decoupling trends between growth, environmental impact show complex pattern, with feasibility absolute limited by interdependence.

Purpose This study aims to propose a comprehensive framework for assessing circular economy (CE) performance in the agri-food sector. It identifies those indicators that should be used measure circularity regarding CE strategies, applies them at microeconomic level and examines impact of key business determinants (financial, internalization, knowledge, awareness digitalization). Design/methodology/approach A literature review was conducted with focus on strategies related indicators. The obtained is applied Spanish sector survey provide an empirical analysis firm level. partial least squares based-structural equation modelling method applied. Findings research suggests set assess micro findings reveal heterogeneity sub-indicators narrowing, slowing, closing regenerating strategies. also highlights strong effects drivers tested have CE, especially knowledge. Practical implications provides can guide public policies decisions sectors significant environmental impacts. conceptual explains which considered by governments regulators when developing seek promote Social In case companies, results show acquiring more knowledge essential promoting sustainable work habits enhance CE. Developing universities to become green and sustainable is important. This in line with the world’s development guidelines. In developing a university towards being sustainable, different sustainability assessment criteria have been used, including UI GreenMetric, GRI, STARS, AUN, THE’S Impact Ranking, AISHE. Each criterion designed broad-spectrum manner that not specific. Therefore, this research aims develop indicators suit national context Thailand, both terms of size location universities. Based on from there are six categories, totaling 51 indicators. Thus, study analyze weaknesses strengths each indicator using questionnaire distributed by Sustainable University Network Thailand all 36 organize meeting experts (focus group) area. To obtain appropriate prioritize indicator, analytic hierarchy process (AHP) weighted arithmetic mean (WAM) method were used an index (GU SI) suitable for Thai context. The results show newly developed GU SI comprises seven aspects, total 27 These can be assess small, medium, large They complex, straightforward use, more importantly reflect By applying these new criteria, it was found sampled yielded significantly high scores. limited its application assessments only Thailand.
