Abstract With the increasing demand for fresh‐water and electricity in modern society, various technologies are being explored to obtain electricity. Due advances materials science, solar‐driven interfacial evaporation (SDIE) systems have attracted widespread attention because they require only solar energy, possess a high rate little pollution. The researchers combined energy harvesting measures into system output electricity, further improving utilization. However, more in‐depth research review remain on using SDIE efficient water‐electricity cogeneration. Therefore, mechanisms of different photothermal that utilize produce thermal first summarized this paper.
