Microbial-induced carbonate precipitation (MICP) is a promising process with applications in various industries, including soil improvement, bioremediation, and concrete repair. However, comprehensive bibliometric analyses focusing on MICP research hydrodynamics are lacking. This study 1098 articles from the Scopus database (1999–2024) using VOSviewer R Studio, identifying information publications, citations, authors, countries, journals, keyword hotspots, terms. Global participation 66 countries noted, China United States leading terms of contributions. The top-cited papers discuss utilisation ureolytic microorganisms to enhance properties, mechanisms, deterioration mitigation, groundwater flow enhancement, biomineral distribution, treatment effects hydraulic properties under varying conditions. Keywords like calcium carbonate, permeability, Sporosarcina pasteurii pivotal research. co-occurrence analysis reveals thematic clusters microbial cementation geological advancing our understanding MICP’s interdisciplinary nature its role addressing environmental challenges.
