Rice
husk,
a
byproduct
of
rice
production,
poses
significant
environmental
challenges
due
to
disposal
issues,
while
the
emission
volatile
organic
compounds
into
atmosphere
further
exacerbates
these
concerns.
This
study
addresses
both
problems
by
exploring
potential
texturally
enhanced
SiO2,
derived
from
Uruguayan
as
catalytic
support
for
manganese
oxides
in
combustion
compounds.
SiO2
was
synthesized
husk
ash
using
sustainable,
acid-free
pretreatment
method,
yielding
notably
high
silica
purity
96.5%—a
level
comparable
or
exceeding
previously
reported
values,
highlighting
quality
inherent
husk.
The
activity
evaluated
acetone
model
compound,
achieving
up
90%
conversion
with
30
wt.%
oxide
at
300
°C,
CO2
primary
product.
Furthermore,
24
h
stability
test
demonstrated
consistent
performance,
maintaining
rate
around
95.6
±
2.5%.
These
findings
suggest
that
high-purity
its
sustainability
benefits,
offers
an
effective
solution
removal
when
supporting
active
phase
such
oxides,
addressing
and
compound
emissions.
