Rice husk, a byproduct of rice production, poses significant environmental challenges due to disposal issues, while the emission volatile organic compounds into atmosphere further exacerbates these concerns. This study addresses both problems by exploring potential texturally enhanced SiO2, derived from Uruguayan as catalytic support for manganese oxides in combustion compounds. SiO2 was synthesized husk ash using sustainable, acid-free pretreatment method, yielding notably high silica purity 96.5%—a level comparable or exceeding previously reported values, highlighting quality inherent husk. The activity evaluated acetone model compound, achieving up 90% conversion with 30 wt.% oxide at 300 °C, CO2 primary product. Furthermore, 24 h stability test demonstrated consistent performance, maintaining rate around 95.6 ± 2.5%. These findings suggest that high-purity its sustainability benefits, offers an effective solution removal when supporting active phase such oxides, addressing and compound emissions.

With the increasing demand for air pollution control, development of efficient and stable catalysts to degrade hazardous VOCs such as toluene has become particularly important. Herein, various copper-doped attapulgite-supported cobalt oxide spinel composites (CuxCo3−xO4/ATP) were synthesized using an ultrasonic-assisted precipitation method. The results showed that abundant Si-OH groups on surface ATP played a crucial role in anchoring Co, instantaneous high-energy input ultrasonication facilitated formation Si-O-Co bonds Co3O4/ATP. doping Cu ions induced expansion Co3O4 lattice, resulting significant number oxygen vacancies. ultrasound-induced Cu0.1Co2.9O4/ATP catalyst exhibited best catalytic oxidation performance, achieving 99% degradation rate at 300 °C under weight hourly space velocity (WHSV) 10,000 mL·g−1 h−1 initial concentration 1000 ppm, along with high stability during 12 h continuous running. This work presents new strategy cost-effective elimination VOCs.

Cordierite-based supported noble-metal-free catalysts for ozone decomposition are elaborated. The cordierite ceramic surface is pretreated with oxalic acid and NaOH, Mn-Cu-Ni oxide prepared by the impregnation method. mass ratio of oxides in resulting MnO2:CuO:NiO = 3:2:1, their loadings from 1.8 to 7.0 wt.%. supports characterized low-temperature N2 adsorption, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), powder X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), temperature-programmed reduction H2 (TPR-H2). tested high airflow rates (20 50 L/min) initial concentrations 1 2 ppm at temperatures range 25–120 °C. It shown that a combined treatment NaOH leads developed porous structure stabilization highly dispersed state. activity room temperature demonstrated. can be recommended application purification air because catalytic activity, mechanical stability, relatively low weight cost.
