Achyrocline satureioides, popularly called "marcela" in Brazil, is used traditional medicine South America. A. inflorescences are for many conditions, including to minimize the Sars-Cov-2 symptoms. Therefore, aim of this study was determine toxicity profile satureioides aqueous extract (ASAE), using Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) alternative model. Survival, reproduction, development, and transgenerational assays were performed. The effects ASAE investigated under conditions thermal stress presence oxidant hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). In addition, C. strains containing high antioxidant enzyme levels elevated lineages daf-16, skn-1 daf-2 regulatory pathways examined. LC50 value found be 77.3 ± 4 mg/ml. concentration 10 mg/ml (frequently humans) did not exhibit a significant reduction worm survival at either L1 or L4 stage, after 24 72 hr treatment. markedly alter body area. N2 strain, (10 25 mg/ml) reversed damage initiated by H2O2. protected produced H2O2 sod-3, gst-4 ctl − 1,2,3, suggesting modulation these systems plant extract. exposure activated daf-16 response transcriptional independently daf-2, even extreme stress. Data suggest that ASAE, concentrations tested elegans, exhibits reliable profile, which may contribute consideration safe use humans.

This study sought to elucidate the reason for traditional use of Psoralea corylifolia (PC) over Heracleum maximum (HM) treating vitiligo, though seeds from both plants are rich in a class phototoxic compounds called furanocoumarins, that effective vitiligo.Toxicity studies were carried out by LD 50 experiments on wistar male and female rats, physiochemical parameters associated with toxicity evaluated. The results correlated elemental profile obtained two using laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS).The phototoxic/toxic properties ethanolic extracts compared brine shrimp bioassay. The PC extract showed lower levels under long-wave UV light (365 nm) than HM extract, where 100% mortality was observed at lowest concentration tested (30 µg/ml).Under dark conditions, (63.93 ± 6.63 µg/ml) also PC, only 53.7% highest (237.1 µg/ml),further suggesting more toxic seeds. The findings indicate have not been used medicine skin ailments because relatively higher animal hence potential adverse effects.

In Traditional System of Medicine (TSM) several edible plants are used for the management inflammation. Inflammation is one immune response processes body which shows four types indications: redness, pain, burning and swelling. Plant possess ability synthesizing a number phytochemicals to defend themselves that known as secondary metabolites can be uses treatment inflammation in body. Medicines anti-inflammatory activity steroidal non-steroidal allopathic system medicines (ASM) available market frequently by patients However; it causes side effects including blood clotting increasing risk heart-attacks. Hence, herbal safe compared considered products. Therefore, there need conduct clinical trials based on findings pioneer workers who have compiled data using plant origin applying advanced techniques scientific approaches.

The gut-lung axis involves microbial and product interactions between the lung intestine. Antibiotics for chronic asthma can cause intestinal dysbiosis, disrupting this axis. Sodium houttuyfonate (SH) has diverse biological activities, including modifying gut microbiota, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory. This study aims to explore relationship SH, CD4+ T cells, microbiota.

Traditional medicinal plants (TMPs) are a significant part of people’s quality life, offering natural substitute for modern drugs with numerous side effects. In Tanzania, data on antiasthmatic TMPs highly fragmented. This review, comprehensive compilation ethnobotanical research evidence, aimed to provide thorough understanding used by the locals asthma management and identify species that have already been investigated in preclinical studies. The review was conducted according Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta‐Analyses (PRISMA) statement. To gather relevant literature Tanzanians, web search using electronic databases (Scopus, PubMed, ProQuest, Academic Library, Web Science, SciFinder, Wiley Online Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, African Journals Online) conducted. scientific names were verified through Plants World database, collected information analysed descriptive statistics Microsoft Excel software. ethnomedicinal obtained from 24 different articles. software analyse statistics. A total 62 belonging 33 families identified. Species Fabaceae (14.5%) Rubiaceae (8.1%) most utilized. analysis revealed trees (42.0%) leaves (40.0%) utilized life forms plant parts, respectively. Most materials (59.7%) make remedies wild environment. Decoction (55.0%) is dominant preparation method remedies, majority (69.0%) orally administered. Of recorded TMPs, 22.6% had their vivo activity reported literature. also highlighted strategic significance preparations made discovering developing new drugs. However, need molecular targets action toxicological aspects should be considered.
