Pyrolysis stands out as a highly promising technology for converting biomass. Upgrading the bio-oil to meet requirements fuelling internal combustion engines is indispensable. This study evaluates economic viability of microwave-assisted pyrolysis (MAP) pine sawdust, followed by esterification production biodiesel. Aspen Plus® was used simulate facility that processed 2000 metric tonnes sawdust per day. The minimum fuel selling price (MFSP) biodiesel established through use discounted cash flow analysis. A life cycle assessment approach evaluate environmental impact production. Process modelling findings revealed section yielded 65.8 wt% bio-oil, 8.9 biochar, and 25.3 NCGs. product yield 48 raw yielding 631.7 day With cost methanol playing significant role, overall capital investment $286.1 MM total yearly operating expenses were $164.9 MM. predicted MFSP $2.31/L, with operational output being most important factors. emission from process resulted in global warming potential 70.97 kg CO2eq. an anticipated competitive traditional diesel fuel, concludes method economically viable. results underline how crucial it optimize variables order increase process's viability.

In the modern world, as population rises and fossil fuel supplies decline, energy demands continue to rise. Moreover, use of fuels harms ecology, contributing pollution global warming. order overcome these difficulties, several approaches are revealed, such utilization biomass a renewable source energy. Studies revealed that can be converted into bioenergy via thermal conversion processes, like pyrolysis, gasification, torrefaction. Pyrolysis is most convenient process obtain three different types biofuels (biochar solid, bio-oil liquid, syngas gas). The produced in this normally lower quality cannot used directly because they contain many undesirable components. Catalytic pyrolysis one best processes upgrade biofuels. Several varieties catalysts catalytic (ex situ situ). Due stable operating conditions, both non-catalytic procedures produce biochar has consistent output. Meanwhile, effects considerably enhance quantity bio-oils syngas. By removing unwanted oxygenated nitrogenous components, through method have higher calorific value, reduced viscosity, improved stability. Many researchers looked at ways increase rate whereas few focused on maximizing factors improve efficiency pyrolysis. This review addresses impact great detail. Machine learning techno-economic analysis were investigated, well future potential for generation bio-oil.

Abstract Biodiesel produced from different edible and non‐edible feedstocks is a viable alternative option for fueling combustion engine. However, the widespread use of sources biodiesel production may lead to food versus fuel controversy. Oil feedstock best possible solution problems that inhibits on commercial scale. This study presents potential production. Several aspects such as extraction technologies used extracting oil pathways are discussed. The quality should be assured before its commercialization by physical chemical characterization techniques used. In particular, emission comparison derived Based this study, have produce but still it has long way go. due in R&D phase needs more research eliminate additional treatment steps compared economic aspects. Furthermore, there been trade off properties biodiesels which must removed or evaluated pilot scale investigations commercialization.

This study aims at optimizing the process conditions to extract maximum yields of bio-oil from pine sawdust using microwave-assisted pyrolysis (MAP). Aspen Plus® V11 was used model thermochemical conversion products, and response surface methodology (RSM) based on a central composite design (CCD) employed in optimization parameters. The mutual effects temperature reactor pressure product distribution were investigated. findings have shown that optimal operating for producing highest amount (65.8 wt%) achieved 550 °C 1 atm. simulated more significantly influenced by linear quadratic terms reaction temperature. In addition, high determination coefficient (R2 = 0.9883) obtained developed model. A set three published experimental results acquired under circumstances comparable simulations' limitations further validate simulation results. process's economic viability assessed order establish minimum selling price (MSP). MSP $1.14/L liquid evaluated. An sensitivity analysis has annual fuel yield, required rate return, income tax, costs initial capital investment substantial impact bio-oil. It inferred optimized parameters may improve process' competitiveness an industrial scale due its better improved sustainability biorefineries, as well assure waste reduction.
