Abstract While water alternating gas (WAG) injection is a prevalent technique in enhanced oil recovery, it faces significant challenges heterogeneous and high permeability reservoirs. The primary issue the rapid breakthrough poor sweep efficiency due to segregation upper sections of reservoir, leaving lower areas unswept. To address these limitations, this paper explores novel method applying polymer-WAG (PWAG) flooding, augment traditional WAG processes. A key feature PWAG continuous polymer-enhanced throughout cycle. Our study focuses on evaluating impact various natural polymers enhancement during cycle reservoir environments. findings indicate notable performance improvement, with an increase ranging from 6-10% when using proposed polymers. Polymers play a significant role in enhanced oil recovery (EOR) due to their viscoelastic properties and macromolecular structure. Herein, the mechanisms of application polymeric materials for are elucidated. Subsequently, polymer types used EOR, namely synthetic polymers natural (biopolymers), discussed. Moreover, numerous applications EOR such as flooding, foam alkali–polymer surfactant–polymer alkali–surfactant–polymer nanofluid flooding appraised evaluated. Most exhibit pseudoplastic behavior presence shear forces. The biopolymers better salt tolerance thermal stability but susceptible plugging biodegradation. As associative polyacrylamide, several complexities involved unlocking its full potential. Hence, hydrolyzed polyacrylamide remains most coveted field floods. Enhanced oil recovery (EOR) is used to retrieve capillary trapped and bypassed in the reservoir. Due to the increased demand for energy resources these days, especially due Russian-Ukrainian war, focus of major countries is turning strongly towards improving oil production, heavy and extra oil, which represents 40% world reserve. This research focuses on presenting methods maximize productivity currently used such as steam injection, cyclic stimulation, in-situ combustion, steam-assisted gravity drainage, vapor extraction (VAPEX). The development of renewable drop-in diesel fuels is essential for decarbonizing the diesel-dominated heavy-duty fleet in short to medium term. Therefore, project 'Robust and Efficient processes technologies Drop In FUELs road transport' (REDIFUEL), developed a novel fuel production technology. fuel, named REDIFUEL, consists mixture high-cetane hydrocarbons C6-C11 alcohols. This work presents complete well-to-wheel environmental assessment REDIFUEL use mild hybrid plug-in long haul trucks with prospective Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). addition, compared fueled fossil diesel, conventional biodiesel, battery electric trucks. LCA results showed reduction climate change impacts 40–55% 2030, 27–64% 2050 when displaces diesel. sensitivity analysis that feedstock value, payload, allocation factor were most important parameters affecting results. For impact categories, had higher than REDIFUEL.
