Polymers play a significant role in enhanced oil recovery (EOR) due to their viscoelastic properties and macromolecular structure. Herein, the mechanisms of application polymeric materials for are elucidated. Subsequently, polymer types used EOR, namely synthetic polymers natural (biopolymers), discussed. Moreover, numerous applications EOR such as flooding, foam alkali–polymer surfactant–polymer alkali–surfactant–polymer nanofluid flooding appraised evaluated. Most exhibit pseudoplastic behavior presence shear forces. The biopolymers better salt tolerance thermal stability but susceptible plugging biodegradation. As associative polyacrylamide, several complexities involved unlocking its full potential. Hence, hydrolyzed polyacrylamide remains most coveted field floods. Finally, shows good efficiency at pilot scales, while recently devised potential EOR.

Coal seam water injection can effectively reduce the amount of dust suspended in working face during coal mining. However, permeability gradually deteriorates with increasing depth Ultrasound excitation improve conditions seams. To explore mechanism ultrasound improving seam, evolution mass fracture after was investigated through low-temperature nitrogen adsorption experiments and microscopic observation. Additionally, changes pore volume specific surface area were quantitatively analyzed. The effective water-bearing samples stimulated by ultrasonic waves also seepage experiments. research results indicated that produced pores size scale range 2–10 nm concentrated distribution mesopores, thereby mass. confining pressure closed fractures decreased body. Enhanced oil recovery (EOR) is used to retrieve capillary trapped and bypassed in the reservoir. Accordingly, laboratory field applications of chemical EOR (CEOR) methods have been evaluated with varying degrees efficiency. Nonetheless, chemicals tend precipitate harsh reservoir conditions, thereby inhibiting efficiency process. Low salinity waterflooding (LSWF) another technique that has gaining prodigious attention for recovering additional from due its sterling properties. However, LSWF a low especially heavy reservoirs. Recently, synergic combination exploited, explored, evaluated. Herein, type, mechanism, newly devised hybrid method reviewed. Moreover, application sandstones carbonates. Experimental modeling results revealed yields higher compared individual method. The interplay underlying mechanisms during process resulting was elucidated. Finally, gaps research recommendation future studies were highlighted.

In the last two decades, ultrasound (US) technologies research has increasingly earned attention for applications in oil and gas industry. Numerous laboratory field have proven ultrasonics as an efficient, sustainable cost-effective technology improving well productivity. This paper pursues elaboration of a comprehensive review most recent related to ultrasonic Statistical analysis different functional categories classification publications were performed. Considering reviewed, there is huge gap between numerical studies comparison with numerous studies, deeming it necessary increase efforts on developing mathematical models field-testing cases effect. A waves' mechanisms action enhanced recovery (EOR) emulsification/demulsification was conducted. Despite lack consensus regarding mechanisms, cavitation thermal effects wellbore fluid formation rock been widely accepted influencing mechanisms. compilation state-of-the-art numerical, decades assembled.
