Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can induce serious adverse effects in gastrointestinal (GI) mucosa, increasing intestinal permeability and leading to mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, apoptosis inflammation. As proton pump inhibitors are effective protecting against NSAID-induced gastropathy but not enteropathy, current research is focused on natural products as protective substances for therapy prevention of injury. Herein, through the use an vitro model based epithelial cell (Caco-2) damage caused by indomethacin (INDO), we examined activity a commercially available standardized extract (OFI+OE) from Opuntia ficus-indica (L.) Mill. cladodes Olea europaea L. leaves. Pre-treatment with OFI+OE prevented INDO-induced barrier damage, demonstrated TEER measurement, fluorescein permeability, tight junction protein expression. The showed positive stress correlated activation apoptosis, decreasing pro-apoptotic markers BAX Caspase-3 anti-apoptotic factor Bcl-2. Moreover, inhibited NF-κB pathway pro-inflammatory cascade. In conclusion, these data support strategy mucosal demonstrating its beneficial modulation oxidative, apoptotic, inflammatory pathways.

Bee pollen is characterized by an exceptional diversity and abundance of micronutrients bioactive phytochemicals. This richness remains very sparsely investigated, but accumulating evidence strongly supports a promising future for bee in human nutrition medicine. Epigenetic regulation among the most compelling biomedical topics that remain completely untapped derivative research. In our current research, we identified numerous ubiquitous compounds are consistently present this matrix, regardless its botanical geographical origins, have been well studied documented as epigenetic regulators recent years. Given relative newness both research studies within nutritional, pharmaceutical, medical sciences, review aims to bridge these valuable fields advance related experimental investigations. To best knowledge, first work has aimed comprehensively investigate modulatory potential compounds. Our findings also unveiled several intriguing phenomena, such dual effect same compound depending on cellular context or some cross-generational heritability traits. Although whole extract still lacking, study clearly indicates avenue worth further We hope constitutes foundational cornerstone investigations

Glutathione (GSH)‑degrading enzymes are essential for starting the first stages of GSH degradation. These include extracellular γ‑glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT) and intracellular GSH‑specific γ‑glutamylcyclotransferase 1 (ChaC1) 2. cellular activities, such as immune response, differentiation, proliferation, homeostasis regulation programmed cell death. Tumor tissue frequently exhibits abnormal expression GSH‑degrading enzymes, which has a key impact on development spread malignancies. The present review summarizes gene protein structure, catalytic activity their vital roles in tumor (including oxidative endoplasmic reticulum stress, control death, promotion inflammation tumorigenesis modulation drug resistance cells) potential role diagnostic biomarkers therapeutic targets.

ABSTRACT Background In recent decades, natural compounds have been considered a significant source of new antitumor medicines due to their unique advantages. Several in vitro and vivo studies focused on the effect terpenoids apoptosis mediated by mitochondria malignant cells. Recent findings this review article, we six extensively studied terpenoids, including sesquiterpenes (dihydroartemisinin parthenolide), diterpenes (oridonin triptolide), triterpenes (betulinic acid oleanolic acid), efficacy targeting induce cell death. Terpenoid‐induced mitochondria‐related death includes apoptosis, pyroptosis, necroptosis, ferroptosis, autophagy, necrosis caused mitochondrial permeability transition. Apoptosis autophagy interact meaningful ways. addition, view several disadvantages such as low stability bioavailability, advances research combination chemotherapy chemical modification were surveyed. Conclusion This article deepens our understanding association between death, presenting hypothetical basis for use anticancer management.
