High-altitude coffee has an international reputation due to its high quality, especially in countries with a long production history, such as Costa Rica. Specific geographical characteristics determine the regions where high-altitude can be cultivated. Over last two decades, new conditions have promoted growth of smallholder farms Upper Buenavista Catchment (UBC) South To understand this phenomenon’s process, we initially performed detailed geomorphological mapping high-elevation sites UBC. Abstract The spatial and temporal variations of glacier surface area, annual equilibrium line altitude (ELA), accumulation area ratio (AAR) in Mago basin, Eastern Himalaya, are studied over 1988–2019 using Landsat data. was mapped automatic extraction index (AGEI) 49 glaciers named as G1–G49 were found 2019. Fifteen with greater than 1 km2 2019 selected for analysis. An GIS tool comprising balance (AABR), AAR, mean elevation (MGE), combination NIR band Otsu threshold, used determining ELA. All experienced shrinkage a total loss 15.22 (28.48%) at 0.49 (0.92%) per annum. G1, G9, G15, G35, G41, G42 showed significant decreasing trend area. Glaciers facing South-West highest deglaciation. For the ELA, all increasing observed G2, G40. Overall, there an increase ELA by 137.3 m 4.43 m/year. average AAR varied from 0.44 to 0.97. Average about 0.8 South, South-East, North facing, 0.6 West 0.7 East glaciers.

The Gulf of Corinth is a rapidly opening area with high seismicity associated extensive building collapses, destruction cities, and even the deaths inhabitants. Rapid residential development, especially in southern part Corinth, construction crucial technical infrastructures necessitate understanding activity across crustal-scale faults that host devastating earthquakes. evolution landforms affected by fault action dominant issue geological science. In present study, was selected 20 km long Xilokastro pure normal fault. this fault, we apply eight geomorphological indices footwall catchments drain perpendicular to its trace. total, more than 5000 measurements were made 102 catchments. determination requires morphological profiles either or main tributaries drainage basins under consideration through use geographical information systems (ArcGIS platform).
