Tranexamic acid in ear surgery: enhancing surgical field visibility and reducing bleeding—a systematic review and meta analysis

Ear surgeries such as mastoidectomy require a clear surgical field with minimal bleeding for optimal visualization and outcomes. However, during these microscopic endoscopic procedures can obscure the surgeon's view potentially impact precision efficiency. The study aimed to identify effect of intravenous tranexamic acid ear surgery. PubMed/MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, Embase were systematically searched from inception through August 31, 2024. Abstract Background Tranexamic acid (TXA), a fibrinolysis inhibitor, is widely used in various surgical fields to minimize blood loss.
