The modification of the layered silicate with a structural type 2:1 montmorillonite by cationic surfactant hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide was carried out. obtained organomontmorillonite milled for 2–25 min in high-energy planetary ball mill. and physicochemical characteristics modified mechanochemically activated were investigated using various methods such as X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive spectroscopy, transmission determination specific surface area well parameters porous structure low-temperature adsorption–desorption nitrogen. quaternary ammonium salt led to slowdown deformation subsequent amorphization during milling. Mechanochemical activation increased its sorption capacity nine times, maximum uranium achieved after mechanochemical treatment 10 min.

A new green hydrogel consisting of cherry stone (CS) powder and sodium alginate (SA) was synthesized through physical crosslinking. The product had a mean diameter 3.95 mm, moisture content 92.28%, bulk density 0.58 g/cm3, swelling ratio 45.10%. analyses its morphological structure functional groups by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) showed the successful entrapping CS in SA polymeric matrix. viability prepared as adsorbent tested towards Orange II (OII) anionic dye. influence pH, amount, contact time, initial dye concentration evaluated. Then, impact three accelerating factors (stirring speed, ultrasound exposure duration, temperature) on OII retention investigated. highest recorded removal efficiency adsorption capacity were 82.20% 6.84 mg/g, respectively. followed Elovich pseudo-second-order kinetics, adequately described Freundlich Khan isotherms, can be defined spontaneous, endothermic, random. experiments confirmed that obtained used acceptably for at least two consecutive cycles, sustaining effectiveness water decontamination.
