The ecological validity of soundscape studies usually rests on the choice soundscapes that are representative perceptual space under investigation. For example, a pleasantness study might investigate locations with ranging from “pleasant” to “annoying”. is typically researcher led, but participant-led process can reduce selection bias and improve result reliability. Hence, we propose robust method pinpoint characteristic possessing arbitrary attributes. We validate our by identifying Singaporean spanning quadrants generated “Pleasantness” “Eventfulness” axes ISO 12913-2 circumplex model perception, as perceived local experts. From memory experience, 67 participants first selected corresponding each quadrant in major planning region Singapore. then performed weighted k-means clustering locations, weights for location derived previous frequencies durations spent participant. Weights hence acted proxies participant confidence. In total, 62 were thereby identified suitable further research utilizing quadrants. Audio–visual recordings acoustic characterization will be made future study.

Indoor environmental quality (IEQ) significantly impacts human health, well-being, and productivity. However, a comprehensive in-depth review of the combined effects IAQ other multi-domain factors on productivity is lacking. There has not been any prior that encapsulates impact physiological responses occupants. To address this gap, paper investigates highlights (thermal, visual, acoustic) occupant well-being in built environment. The explores various research methods, including evaluation creativity, data collection, signal analysis. We also examined interactions between factors, as well strategies for optimizing through integrated building design smart systems. key findings from reveal with IEQ further impacting these effects. Despite advances field, there are several limitations gaps current methods study designs, small sample sizes, limited insufficient experimental control, reliance laboratory or simulated environments, lack follow-up long-term data, robust performance metrics. proposes future directions, specific applications, work to advance understanding implications policy practice include need holistic approaches management, focus creating healthy productive indoor environments. This emphasizes importance considering complex interplay potentials adopting control systems sustainable optimize By addressing critical issues, we can enhance overall life occupants contribute more future.

Environmental noise has long been considered one of the unwelcome aspects urban life at home. An increasing number scholars have studied improving indoor acoustic comfort by using soundscape approach. However, much uncertainty still exists about relationship between audio-visual environment and perception. The current study investigates interaction effects traffic sound window views on perceptions in residential contexts. Thirty-two participants were presented with 51 scenarios (a combination 17 three aural stimuli) requested to assess their a VR experiment. Results showed that could moderate impact nature, road, building pleasantness, while it can also effect water road view eventfulness. In particular, natural found not lead more pleasant necessarily; even decrease pleasantness case heavy outside window. Besides, overall visual indicators, including complexity openness, an interactive pleasantness. Last, is be associated appropriateness soundscape.

Despite tourists' multi-sensory experience has received increasing attention, research on the collective effects of auditory stimuli and visual attention in cultural-oriented tourism destination remains scant. This study explores how environmental affect willingness to stay under high-crowding low-crowding scenarios destinations. Employing eye-tracking experiments self-report survey methods, this demonstrates that light sound positive stay. Furthermore, music human-noise behavioural intention indoor are mediated by attention. makes several significant contributions. First, it deepens understanding experiences within culture-oriented contexts examining tourists respond crowding through both stimuli, an aspect often overlooked visitor use management studies. Second, extends stimulus-organism-response (SOR) model integrating combined cues, offering a more comprehensive perspective sensory experiences. Third, provides practical implications for mitigating perceived audio pictures. These findings provide valuable insights framework cultural destinations, particularly from
