Urban soils are vital components of urban ecosystems, significantly influenced by anthropogenic activities and environmental factors. Despite misconceptions about their quality, play a pivotal role in carbon (C) cycling storage, impacting global emissions sequestration. However, challenges such as soil contamination, land use changes, expansion pose significant threats to quality C storage capacity. Over the last two decades, there has been an increasing interest potential part climate change mitigation strategies. In this review, bibliometric analysis covering twenty years (2004-2024) was performed offer insights into research trends, mainly Mediterranean region. This paper also identifies gaps proposes essential solutions for mitigating negative impacts urbanization on biodiversity functions. Urban thermal anomalies profoundly impact human society, affecting daily life, public health, and residential comfort. Prior studies linked to urban morphology evolution land use change during urbanization based on multi-indicator quantification of linear regression modeling. However, it remained unclear which elements predominantly dominate whether their is solely linear, understanding the diverse mechanisms through how influences various across seasons remains limited. Therefore, this study employed convolutional neural networks interpretable machine learning (Grad-CAM SHAP) explore nonlinear relationships between anomalies, focusing comparisons different types anomaly events time. The main findings indicated: (1) Grad-CAM's identification pivotal hotspot pixels SHAP's interpretability assessment highlighted that crucial factors contributing include area green spaces, water number facilities, building floor ratio, count industrial production facilities. The necessity of affordable and durable building-integrated photovoltaics has gained widespread importance for the renewable energy transition involving electrification decarbonization in climate-neutral cities that possess many public health co-benefits. The escalation of urbanisation contributes significantly to climate change and exacerbates environmental, health social disparities, especially affecting impoverished vulnerable communities in the urban periphery. However, few studies contrast global disparities multiple wellbeing from inequitable green infrastructure (GI) cooling perspectives. Through a combination systematic literature review hierarchical archetypal analysis, this study examines 95 out 3864 initial articles focusing on interplay between GI disparate services, their emphasis both subjective objective wellbeing. Our findings highlight an increasing interest topic since 2009, with notable surge post-2015 focused application nature-based solutions for associated inequity. reveals 43 thematic categories based four dimensions, which we identify characteristics: (1) most affected individuals often financial status, population density, access public facilities; (2) geographic areas where effects are pronounced, linked building attributes high-density impervious surfaces; (3) implications highlighting physical ailments; (4) perceptions emphasising residents' demand.
