Scientific
evaluation
of
cultivated
land
quality
(CLQ)
is
necessary
for
promoting
rational
utilization
and
achieving
one
the
Sustainable
Development
Goals
(SDGs):
Zero
Hunger.
However,
CLQ
system
proposed
in
previous
studies
was
diversified,
methods
were
inefficient.
In
this
study,
based
on
China’s
first
national
standard
“Cultivated
Land
Quality
Grade”
(GB/T
33469-2016),
we
constructed
a
unified
county-level
by
selecting
15
indicators
from
five
aspects—site
condition,
environmental
physicochemical
property,
nutrient
status
field
management—and
used
Delphi
method
to
calculate
membership
degree
indicators.
Taking
Jimo
district
Shandong
Province,
China,
as
case
compared
performance
three
machine
learning
models,
including
random
forest,
AdaBoost,
support
vector
regression,
evaluate
using
multi-temporal
remote
sensing
data.
The
comprehensive
index
reveal
spatial
distribution
CLQ.
results
showed
that
data
model
efficient
reliable,
had
significant
positive
correlation
with
crop
yield
(r
0.44,
p
<
0.001).
proportions
high-,
medium-
poor-quality
27.43%,
59.37%
13.20%,
respectively.
western
part
study
area
better,
while
it
worse
eastern
central
parts.
main
limiting
factors
include
irrigation
capacity
texture
configuration.
Accordingly,
series
targeted
measures
policies
suggested,
such
strengthening
construction
farmland
water
conservancy
facilities,
deep
tillage
soil
continuing
construct
well-facilitated
farmland.

Accurately
and
timely
quantifying
the
dynamics
of
urban
sprawl
is
essential
for
improving
land
use
efficiency
planning.
However,
existing
research
mainly
focused
on
a
single
city
or
agglomerations
in
China,
while
national
scale
studies
used
short-term
remote
sensing
data
to
quantify
sprawl.
Therefore,
we
still
lack
long
term
most
up-to-date
understanding
especially
different
regions,
cities
sizes.
Here,
quantified
spatiotemporal
using
index
(USI)
based
latest
population
census,
analyzed
its
driving
force
China
during
2000
~
2020
optimal
parameters-based
geographical
detector.
The
results
showed
that
past
two
decades,
Chinese
were
experiencing
sprawl,
with
an
average
USI
3.04,
indicating
annual
growth
rate
lands
was
3.04%
higher
than
population.
Overall,
slowdown,
dropping
from
3.55
2010
2.53
2020.
Among
more
severe
western
region,
where
5.33
89.3%
exceeded
speed.
Recently,
transportation
substantially
increased.
In
future,
Territorial
Spatial
Planning
should
pay
attention
confining
excessive
small-
medium-sized
region
China.

Soil
conservation
(SC),
which
supports
ecosystems
by
retaining
vegetation,
controlling
erosion,
sediment,
cycling
nutrients,
water,
maintaining
diversity,
and
forming
soil,
is
threatened
human-induced
soil
erosion
landscape
fragmentation.
Therefore,
revealing
the
spatial
relationship
between
fragmentation
(LF)
SC
can
provide
a
scientific
basis
for
ecosystem
policy-making
planning
in
China.
However,
previous
studies
failed
to
reveal
spatially
non-stationary
response
of
LF,
especially
at
national
scale.
To
compensate
research
gaps,
this
study
first
measured
county
scale
with
benefit
transfer
method,
then
LF
was
characterized
pattern
indices,
finally
relationships
from
global
local
perspectives
through
regression
models
were
analyzed.
Results
showed
that
values
services
per
unit
area
2000,
2010,
2018
$134.73/ha,
$132.30/ha,
$130.71/ha,
respectively,
showing
continuous
decreasing
trend.
The
high-value
areas
distributed
south
Qinling-Huaihe
River,
Greater
Khingan
Mountains,
Changbai
Mountain
areas.
In
contrast,
low-value
mainly
northwest
low
northwestern
region,
while
Shanxi,
Shaanxi,
Hebei,
southern
Gansu
presented
highly
fragmented
landscapes.
