Abstract
Heritage
language
(HL)
learning
is
often
facilitated
by
consistent
exposure
to
the
HL
in
family
policy
(FLP).
However,
when
children
develop
a
preference
for
majority
language,
members
may
negotiate
their
use
of
both
languages

stronger
emotional
bond
with
while
providing
rich
input.
This

Midwestern
United

on
parents’

Abstract
The
field

second
language
acquisition
(SLA)

While
the
influence
of
learning
experiences
on
foreign
language
motivation
has
been
widely
recognised,
there
is
very
little
empirical
research
examining
its

motivation
of
students
to
learn
Chinese
as
a
foreign
language
has
received

using
PRISMA

guidelines.

that

Abstract
Drawing
on
Activity
Theory,
this
study
is
an
attempt
to
explore
and
explicate
learners’
emotions
in
a
Chinese
English-medium
instruction
(EMI)
context.
This
paper
detailed
two
cases
of
university
learners
address
issues:
how
the
relationship
between
EMI
their
perceived
sociocultural
contexts
shapes
foreign
language
enjoyment
anxiety
factors
affecting

explained
from
Theory
(AT)
perspective.
Qualitative
content
analysis

performed

collected
in-depth,
