Background: The incidence of cancer and the prevalence metabolic disease dysfunction–associated steatotic liver is increasing in young adults. However, updated global data on steatohepatitis (MASH)-associated primary (PLC) adults remains scarce. Methods: This study analyzed from Global Burden Disease between 2000 2021 to assess age-standardized incidence, mortality, disability-adjusted life years rates MASH-associated PLC (15–49 y). Results: In 2021, there were 4300 cases, 3550 deaths, 179,340 Among various etiologies adults, only had increased (annual percent change: +0.26, 95% CI: 0.16%–0.35%), with Eastern Mediterranean region having largest observed increase 1.46%, 1.40%–1.51%). made up 6% (+1% 2000) incident (+2% all this age group. Over half countries exhibited an rate 2021. Conclusions: significantly increasing, signaling likely future increases among older as cohort ages. trend necessitates urgent strategies worldwide mitigate epidemics

Abstract Background and Aim Metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) has become a leading cause of chronic worldwide. A new entity termed MetALD also been described is defined as individuals with MASLD increased alcohol intake. However, the natural history compared unknown. We aimed to compare longitudinal outcomes in patients versus MetALD. Methods This study was performed using data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey 2011 2018. (defined by United States Fatty Liver Index > 30) who met cardiometabolic criteria including body mass index (BMI) 25 (BMI 23 Asians), hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, hypertriglyceridemia were included. intake (3–6 standard drinks per day males; 2–5 females). comparison overall, cardiovascular, cancer‐related, other causes mortality performed. Results total 2838 2557 included median follow‐up time 56 months. at risk cancer‐related (hazard ratio 1.32; 95% confidence interval 1.14–1.53; P < 0.01). there no significant difference mortality. Conclusions Patients higher for than MASLD. Close attention regular cancer surveillance accurate classification consumption diagnosed warranted help improve patient care outcome.

Abstract Aim Gallstone formation is associated with metabolic dysfunction. Recently, new definitions of steatotic liver disease (SLD) have been proposed, including dysfunction‐associated SLD (MASLD) and moderate alcohol intake (MetALD). We investigated the effects MASLD/MetALD on gallstone formation. Methods This multicenter observational cohort study enrolled 8766 consecutive health‐check examinees who underwent abdominal ultrasonography between 2008 2021 (total observation period 39,105.9 person‐years). All patients were classified into non‐SLD, MASLD, or MetALD groups. The effect MASLD development was evaluated using multivariate Cox regression analysis. Results Age, male sex, identified as independent risk factors for development. a significantly higher developing gallstones than non‐SLD (hazard ratio [HR] 1.7112; 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.4294–2.0486; p < 0.0001) (HR 1.3516, CI 1.0130–1.8033, = 0.0406). However, did not differ Hypertension only significant cardiometabolic factor in group 1.4350, 1.0545–1.9528; 0.0216). Abstract Studies have shown that postmenopausal women more metabolic abnormalities than premenopausal women. No consensus exists on how serum uric acid (sUA) affects metabolism-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) in women. This prospective observational study examined this link using National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2017 to 2020 data. We divided women’s sUA levels into four quartiles used logistic regression, subgroup analyses, restricted triple spline methods compare the prevalence of MAFLD non-menopausal also histograms analyze effect BMI-based indices. This population-based involved 4477 women, including 1139 aged 55–73 years. Multivariate regression showed that, fully adjusted model, we found participants highest quartile had a statistically significant 254% increased risk compared with lowest (OR: 3.54; 95% CI 3.54 1.47–8.55; P < 0.001). Subgroup analyses no interaction between specific subgroups ( > 0.05 for all interactions). Additionally, RCS threshold analysis linear correlation = 0.186) an ideal inflection point 4.6 0.818) left. Right point, size was 1.524 (95% 1.291–1.814; 0.01). Histograms demonstrated BMI sUA’s influence higher may enhance MAFLA US The results suggest monitoring period is critical determining occurrence interventions MAFLD.

Telomere length (TL), mitochondrial DNA copy number (mtDNAcn), and methylation age (DNAmAge) are common aging biomarkers. However, research on the associations between these three markers at birth subsequent metabolic status was limited. This study aimed to evaluate association TL, mtDNAcn, DNAmAge in newborns variation hormones of children 3 years old. involved 895 mother-child pairs from a cohort China, with TL mtDNAcn measured using quantitative real-time PCR, (DNAm) assessed Infinium MethylationEPIC Beadchip, DNAm determined Horvath's epigenetic clock. Insulin leptin levels were via electrochemiluminescence assay. Multivariable adjusted linear regression restricted cubic spline (RCS) analysis utilized examine hormones. The indicated percentage change metabolism for per doubling biomarkers alterations found significant insulin (adjusted percent (95% CI), - 13.22 (- 23.21 1.94)), 15.32 (1.32 31.24)), 14.13 21.59 5.95)). RCS revealed non-linear (Ln transformed) (P = 0.024 nonlinearity), as well 0.043 nonlinearity). Specifically, insulin, positive observed when less than 0.05, which transitioned an inverse greater 0.05. Regarding leptin, there sharp decline 1.35, followed by plateau 1.35 0.67 then further 0.67. In this prospective study, old associated birth. These findings suggested that might play role biological programming health
