This study employed high-throughput sequencing to explore bacterial diversity and hematological variations across different age groups of giraffes, as well the impact diarrhea on their intestinal microbiota. Additionally, correlation between flora indices was examined for first time. Firmicutes, Bacteroides, Proteobacteria were predominant in giraffe's flora. The α-diversity analysis indicated significant microbial among giraffes varying ages (

The widespread use of antibiotics has led to the emergence multidrug-resistant bacteria, which pose significant threats animal health and food safety. Host defense peptides (HDPs) have emerged as promising alternatives because their unique antimicrobial properties minimal resistance induction. However, high costs associated with HDP production incorporation into management practices hinder application. Alternatively, promoting endogenous expression gained attention a sustainable cost-effective approach. This study summarizes latest research findings on modulation by gut microbiota its metabolites. By exploring intricate relationships among microbiota, metabolites, expression, this aims provide theoretical foundation for development targeted strategies increase production, thereby infectious diseases. KEY POINTS: • are expressed via various factors, such nutrients, microbial Recent trends include mechanisms intestine expression. A comprehensive overview microbiota-host interaction is provided.

Background Dangua Fang (DGF) is a traditional Chinese herbal formula widely used to regulate glucolipid metabolism. Nuclear factor, interleukin-3 regulated (NFIL3) plays regulatory role in intestinal fat absorption and energy Gut microbiota can modulate NFIL3 expression affect host Purpose This study aimed investigate the effects of DGF or inhibition on gut their metabolites mice with metabolism disorder (GLMD) explore relationship between anti-GLMD those direct inhibition. Methods A GLMD mouse model was established by induction high-glucose high-fat diet. The were divided into control group (CG), (MG), (DFG), + siRNA (DFSG), (SG). administered sterile water, DGF, and/or intraperitoneal injections siRNA-NFIL3 normal saline for 15 weeks, following which metabolic indicators, levels, histopathological alterations liver small tissues evaluated. Additionally, differential analysed, linear regression analysis conducted microbial species indicators assess regulation. Results Significant differences observed CG MG groups various indicators. Compared that group, DFG, DFSG, SG significantly improved, pathological morphology intestine altered. mRNA protein levels serum, liver, decreased. relative abundance Bacteroidota decreased, whereas Firmicutes increased, changes correlated serum total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), free fatty acid (FFA) levels. Moreover, lipid metabolism-related pathways altered all three intervention groups. Conclusion reduced mice, metabolites, pathways, similar

Chronic low-grade inflammation is increasingly proving to be one of the main culprits for onset numerous pathologies. Until recently, try combat this insidious enemy, we mainly resorted anti-inflammatory diets, but current scientific evidence seems support hypothesis that maximum impact on health could obtained above all by following an lifestyle. Nutrition alone, however important, has proven insufficient guarantee physiological homeostasis, result evolution lasted hundreds thousands years and occurred in symbiosis with ecosystems. Our conditions, psychosocial relationships emotions connected them, together environment, are elements capable interacting each other, decisively influencing inflammatory process. The Healthy Habits approach interprets makes thought concrete, and, integrated interdisciplinary approach, traces a viable route.

Atopic Dermatitis (AD) is a common inflammatory skin disease characterized primarily by its chronic and recurrent nature. This has significant impact on productivity human longevity. Dysbiosis of gut flora been demonstrated to be significantly associated with the progression AD. In our previous research, it was shown that Lactobacillus rhamnosus RL5-H3-005 (RL) Pediococcus acidilactici RP-H3-006 (RP) have ability reduce risk in AD mice through gut–mammary axis. Based work, this study aims further investigate effects kynurenine (KYN), metabolite RL RP, induced 2, 4-dinitrofluorobenzene (DNFB). study, we found supplementing KYN effectively alleviates pathological symptoms atopic dermatitis improves levels SCFAs their intestines. Further research indicates KYN’s therapeutic are manifested reduction secretory immunoglobulin A (sIgA), E (IgE), interleukin-4 (IL-4), IL-5, IL-13, thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) mice, while also repairing intestinal barrier function mice. Overall, metabolites probiotics RP can regulate potentially improving gut–skin
