Steroid hormones are a class of natural and/or synthetic organic compounds widely used in human and veterinary medicine, but also known as endocrine-disrupting chemicals because their endocrine activity that makes presence water bodies reason concern. To date, many sample treatment protocols have been developed for sensitive determination, mainly entailing liquid- solid-phase extractions, which the focus this review. Most procedures last four years already simplified improved whole throughput, positive contribution can be further overall impact analytical methods. In such scenario, metric tool named AGREEprep has here applied to highlight strengths weaknesses selected procedures, critically assessing on environment according ten principles green preparation.
