Abstract Corrosion inhibitors are one of the practical and cost‐effective way preventing inhibiting corrosion. An inhibitor's primary function includes creating a barrier by forming or more molecular layers to protect against corrosive attacks. Organic molecules most popular, efficient, corrosion inhibitors, all studies demonstrate that organic compounds, preferentially those containing nitrogen (N), sulphur (S), oxygen (O), have high inhibitory efficiency. Also, include inorganic compounds. Since both toxic expensive; emphasis is being placed on developing green as well modification inhibitors. We focusing carbon steel (CS) substrate in this review it first‐line material widely employed various industrial applications. Whereas resistance CSs acidic environments constantly evolving topic, working better performance alternatives other alloys.

Metal corrosion is one of the problems that pose a serious threat to many industries, due damage it causes metal parts, especially those made steel. Thence, researchers are constantly interested in finding simple and inexpensive solutions this. Using combination experimental theoretical explorations, N-(Butylidene)-5-(3,3-Dimethyltriaz-1-en-1-yl)-1H-Imidazole-4-Carboxamide (BDIC) was investigated as an inhibitor carbon steel 1 M HCl solution. The inhibitory effectiveness increased with increasing BDIC concentration. At 25 °C, maximum inhibition efficiencies determined by weight loss (WL), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), potentiodynamic polarization (PDP) techniques were 89.5 %, 89.0 90.2 respectively at × 10–3 Polarization measurements revealed has mixed-type action, reducing anodic/cathodic partial reaction. chemical physical adsorption onto surface followed Langmuir isotherm. aqueous orientation molecules on using DFT & MD simulation approaches. routes closely match findings.

Recently, scientist study the role of surfactants for carbon steel corrosion protection. In present study, newly tetra-cationic surfactant (CS4: 1,N1'-(ethane-1,2-diyl) bis (N1, N2-didodecyl-N2-(2- (((E)-3-hydroxy-4-methoxy-benzylidene)amino)ethyl)ethane-1,2-diaminium) chloride) based on Schiff-base compound(5,5'-((1E,17E)-2,5,8,11,14,17-hexaazaoctadeca-1,17-diene-1,18-diyl)bis(2-methoxyphenol) was synthesised, purified and characterized using FTIR 1HNMR spectroscopy. The synthesized Tetra-cationic (CS4) evaluated as anti-corrosion (CS-metal) in aggressive 1 M HCl electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) potentiodynamic polarization techniques (PDP). CS4 compound had a good surface-active property by reducing surface tension result to hydrophobic chains role. prepared behaved hybrid inhibitor (mixed-type) blocking anodic cathodic sites. exhibited inhibition efficiency reached 95.69%. morphology CS-metal studied scanning electron microscopy (SEM) X-ray photoelectron (XPS)confirming anti-corrosive effect returned into adsorption process molecules over which obeyed Langmuir isotherm. inhibitive supported theoretical quantum chemical studies density functional theory (DFT), Monte Carlo (MC) Molecular Dynamic (MD) simulation.
