The constant increase in temperatures under global warming has led to a prolonged aestivation period for Apostichopus japonicus, resulting considerable losses production and economic benefits. However, the specific mechanism of not been fully elucidated. In this study, we first tried illustrate biological mechanisms from perspective gut microbiota metabolites. Significant differences were found aestivating adult A. japonicus (AAJSD group) compared with nonaestivating (AAJRT young (YAJRT YAJSD groups) based on 16S rRNA gene high-throughput sequencing analysis. abundances Desulfobacterota, Myxococcota, Bdellovibrionota, Firmicutes (4 phyla) AAJSD group significantly increased. Moreover, levels Pseudoalteromonas, Fusibacter, Labilibacter, Litorilituus, Flammeovirga, Polaribacter, Ferrimonas, PB19, Blfdi19 genera higher than other three groups. Further analysis LDA effect size showed that species significant variation abundance group, including phylum Abilibacter, might be important biomarkers japonicus. addition, results metabolomics there distinct metabolic pathways, namely biosynthesis secondary metabolites, tryptophan metabolism, sesquiterpenoid triterpenoid Notably, 5-hydroxytryptophan was upregulated metabolism pathway. Blfdi19, PB19 high positively correlated metabolite 5-HTP. These findings suggest may potential associations among microbiota, This work provide new further understanding

Alzheimer's disease (AD), the most common cause of dementia, results in a sustained decline cognition. There are currently few effective modifying therapies for AD, but insights into mechanisms that mediate onset and progression may lead to new, therapeutic strategies. Amyloid beta oligomers plaques, tau aggregates, neuroinflammation play critical role neurodegeneration impact clinical AD progression. The upstream modulators these pathological features have not been fully clarified, recent evidence indicates gut microbiome (GMB) an influence on therefore human patients. In this review, we summarize studies identified alterations GMB correlate with pathophysiology patients mouse models. Additionally, discuss findings manipulations models potential GMB-targeted therapeutics AD. Lastly, diet, sleep, exercise as modifiers relationship between conclude future directions recommendations further topic.

The Mediterranean diet is a plant-based, antioxidant-rich, unsaturated fat dietary pattern that has been consistently associated with lower rates of noncommunicable diseases and total mortality, so it considered one the healthiest patterns. Clinical trials mechanistic studies have demonstrated its peculiar foods nutrients exert beneficial effects against inflammation, oxidative stress, dysmetabolism, vascular dysfunction, adiposity, senescence, cognitive decline, neurodegeneration, tumorigenesis, thus preventing age-associated chronic improving wellbeing health. Nocturnal sleep an essential physiological function, whose alteration health outcomes diseases. Scientific evidence suggests are related in bidirectional relationship, understanding this association important given their role disease prevention. In review, we surveyed literature concerning current state from epidemiological on impact nighttime quantity quality. available indicate greater adherence to adequate duration several indicators better Potential mechanisms mediating effect described, gap-in-knowledge new research agenda corroborate findings discussed.

The gut microbiota is a rich and dynamic ecosystem that actively interacts with the human body, playing significant role in state of health disease host. Diet, exercise, mental health, other factors have exhibited ability to influence bacterial composition, leading changes can prevent improve, or favor worsen, both intestinal extra-intestinal conditions. Altered microbial states, ‘dysbiosis’, associated conditions diseases are often characterized by shifts abundance diversity, including an impaired Firmicutes Bacteroidetes ratio. By understanding effect lifestyle on microbiota, personalized advice be generated suit each individual profile foster adoption ameliorate dysbiosis. delivery effective reliable advice, however, depends not only available research current topic, but also methods used assess individuals discover associations, which introduce bias at multiple stages. aim this review summarize how variability defined what choices shown association composition. Furthermore, popular investigate outlined, focus possible caused lack use standardized methods. Finally, overview based testing presented, underlining its power limitations.

The intestinal microbiota is a community of microorganisms inhabiting the human intestines, potentially influencing both physiological and pathophysiological processes in body. Existing evidence suggests that nutrients can influence modulation gut microbiota. However, there still limited regarding effects vitamin mineral supplementation on through epigenetic modification. It plausible maintaining an adequate dietary intake D, iron, fibre, zinc magnesium may have beneficial effect alleviating inflammation body, reducing oxidative stress, improving condition various mechanisms. Moreover, epigenetics involves alterations phenotype cell without changing its fundamental DNA sequence. appears by lead to regulation. correlations between are interdependent. The prevalence of sleep disorders, characterized by issues with quality, timing, and duration is increasing globally. Among modifiable risk factors, diet quality has been suggested to influence features. Mediterranean considered a landmark dietary pattern in terms effects on human health. However, habits this cultural heritage should also be the context overall lifestyle behaviors, including habits. This study aimed systematically revise literature relating adherence features observational studies. systematic review comprised 23 reports describing relation between different features, duration, daytime sleepiness, insomnia symptoms. majority included studies were conducted basin reported significant association higher lower likelihood having poor inadequate excessive sleepiness or symptoms insomnia. Interestingly, additional outside showed relationship adoption Mediterranean-type suggesting that biological mechanisms sustaining such an may exist. Gut microbiota comprises the microbial communities inhabiting our gastrointestinal (GI) tracts. Accordingly, these complex play a fundamental role in many host processes and are closely implicated human health diseases. Sleep deprivation (SD) has become increasingly common modern society, partly owing to rising pressure of work diversification entertainment. It is well documented that sleep loss significant cause various adverse outcomes on including immune-related metabolic Furthermore, accumulating evidence suggests gut dysbiosis associated with SD-induced In this review, we summarize caused by SD succedent diseases ranging from immune system organs highlight critical roles The implications possible strategies alleviate SD-related also provided.

Abstract Stress and sleep are linked with overall well-being. Bifidobacterium longum 1714 has been shown to influence stress responses modulate neural during social stress, quality examination in healthy adults. Here, we explored the ability of this strain alter adults using subjective objective measures. Eighty-nine (18–45y) impaired assessed Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) a global score ≥ 5 were randomized receive B. or placebo daily for eight weeks. Assessing effect on PSQI was primary objective. Secondary objectives well-being subjectively parameters actigraphy objectively. While improved both groups, significantly component ( p < 0.05) daytime dysfunction due sleepiness after 4 weeks functioning energy/vitality 8 weeks, compared placebo. No significant measures observed. The had mild sleep, demonstrated by faster improvement at week placebo, although improvements similar groups. increased line previous work that showed modulated activity which correlated enhanced vitality/reduced mental fatigue (ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT04167475).
