Excessive lipid deposition in layer chickens due to inappropriate feeding adversely affects egg production; however, nutritional manipulation methods deal with this issue are still limited. β-hydroxy-β-methylbutyrate (HMB), a metabolite of L-leucine, was recently reported as lipid-lowering nutrient mice and pigs, although its role layers had not been investigated. Here, we employed high-fat high-cholesterol diet (HFHCD)-challenged growing an obese model explore HMB function the regulation metabolism potential mechanisms involved. We found that dietary supplementation (0.05% or 0.10%) significantly reduced HFHCD-induced bodyweight growth layers, mainly reduction abdominal fat deposition. Mechanistically, enhanced hepatic bile acid synthesis from cholesterol through elevating expression Cyp7a1, gene coding key enzyme synthesis. Furthermore, 16S rRNA sequencing revealed remodeled diversity composition layers' cecal microbiota, abundance Bacteroidetes at phylum level were especially affected. Correlation analysis further indicated strong negative association between metabolism-related parameters. Taken together, these data suggest could improve probably modulating gut microbiota function.

The gut microbiota (GM) is a complex ecosystem that closely linked to host health. Ganoderma spp. polysaccharides (GPs), major bioactive component of the fungal genus Ganoderma, can modulate GM, exhibiting various health effects and prebiotic potential. This review comprehensively concluded structural features extraction method GPs. mechanism GPs for anti-obesity, anti-diabetes, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer were further evaluated. simulated gastrointestinal digestion utilization microorganisms discussed. It was found physicochemical properties biological activities depend on their characteristics (molecular weight, monosaccharide composition, glycosidic bonds, etc.). Their also affects structure bioactivities polysaccharides. supplementation could increase relative abundance beneficial bacteria (e.g. Bacteroides, Parabacteroides, Akkermansia, Bifidobacterium), while reducing pathogenic Aerococcus, Ruminococcus), thus promoting Moreover, are resistant in stomach small intestine but digested large intestine. Therefore, be considered as potential prebiotics. However, studies should investigate how prebiotics regulate GM improve

MetSyn includes cluster disorders including obesity, high blood pressure, hyperglycemia, triglyceride levels, and hepatic steatosis. Together, these abnormalities increase cardiovascular risk individuals pose a threat to healthcare systems worldwide. To better understand address this complex issue, recent research has been increasingly focusing unraveling delicate interplay between intestines more specifically our gut microbiome. microbiome entails all microorganisms inhabiting gastrointestinal tract plays pivotal role in processes overall host. Emerging evidence proves an association composition aspects MetSyn, such as obesity. Understanding relationships crucial they offer valuable insights into mechanisms underlying development progression possible treatment options. Yet, how should we interpret relationship? This review focuses MetSyn. In addition, have reviewed existing with disorders, attempt interactions nature association. We also explored potential therapeutic options targeting modify

Adipose tissue dysfunction, which is associated with an increased risk of colorectal cancer (CRC), a significant factor in the pathophysiology obesity. Obesity-related inflammation and extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling promote metastasis (CRCM) by shaping tumor microenvironment (TME). When CRC occurs, metabolic symbiosis cells recruits adjacent adipocytes into TME to supply energy. Meanwhile, abundant immune cells, from adipose blood, are recruited TME, stimulated pro-inflammatory factors triggers chronic local TME. Dysregulated ECM proteins cell surface adhesion molecules enhance further increase contractibility between stromal promotes epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). EMT increases migration invasion surrounding tissues or vessels accelerates CRCM. Colorectal symbiotic microbiota also plays important role promotion In this review, we provide its contributions CRC, special emphasis on adipocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, T ECM, gut progression their microenvironment. We highlight interactions potential therapeutic approaches target these interactions.

Cancer cachexia is a complex multifactorial syndrome whose hallmarks are weight loss due to the wasting of muscle tissue with or without adipose tissue, anorexia, systemic inflammation, and multi-organ metabolic alterations, which negatively impact patients' response anticancer treatments, quality life, overall survival. Despite its clinical relevance, cancer often remains an underestimated complication lack rigorous diagnostic therapeutic pathways. A number studies have shown alterations in gut microbiota diversity composition association markers symptoms, thus supporting central role for dysbiosis pathogenesis this syndrome. Different tools manipulation, including probiotics, prebiotics, synbiotics, fecal transplantation, been investigated, demonstrating encouraging improvements outcomes. Oxytocin is a peptide-hormone extensively studied for its multifaceted biological functions and has recently gained attention role in eating behavior, through action as an anorexigenic neuropeptide. Moreover, the gut microbiota involved oxytocinergic signaling brain-gut axis, specifically regulation of social behavior. The also implicated appetite postulated to play central hedonic eating. In this review, we provide overview on oxytocin individual links with microbiome, homeostatic non-homeostatic behavior well stress.

Abstract Background Probiotics are commonly used after bariatric surgery. However, uncertainty remains regarding their effects. The purpose of this systematic review was to assess the effect probiotics in patients with morbid obesity undergoing Methods PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, Science Direct, and Web were searched from inception April 4, 2023. No language restrictions applied. Relevant randomized controlled trials clinical included. We aggregated data extracted assessed heterogeneity. When severe heterogeneity detected, a random model used. All stages done by independent authors. Results screened 2024 references included 11 trials. Compared protocol groups, showed significant effects on regulating aspartate amino transferase level (MD = −4.32 U/L; 95% CI [−7.10, −1.53], p 0.002), triglycerides −20.16 mg/dL; [−34.51, −5.82], 0.006), weight −1.99 kg; [−3.97, −0.01], 0.05), vitamin B 12 2.24 pg/dL; [−0.02, 4.51], dietary energy −151.03 kcal; [−215.68, −86.37], < 0.00001), protein −4.48 g/day, [−8.76, −0.20], 0.04), carbohydrate −34.25 [−44.87, −23.62], fiber −2.17 [−3.21, −1.14], 0.0001).
