Abstract Anxiety disorders affect millions of people worldwide and present a challenge in neuroscience research because their substantial heterogeneity clinical presentation. While great deal progress has been made understanding the neurobiology fear anxiety, these insights have not led to effective treatments. Understanding relationship between phenotypic underlying biology is critical first step solving this problem. We show translation, reverse computational modeling can contribute refined, cross-species anxiety as well disorders. More specifically, we outline how animal models be leveraged develop testable hypotheses humans by using targeted, approaches ethologically informed behavioral paradigms. discuss translational that guide prioritize nontraditional species. Finally, advocate for use harmonize cross-methodology into anxiety. Together, approach will help bridge widening gap currently conceptualize diagnose disorders, aid discovery better treatments conditions.

Abstract Background Monkeypox has emerged as a global health concern, necessitating preventive measures and awareness among healthcare students. Understanding nursing students’ fears, concerns, practices regarding can help improve preparedness response strategies. Aim This study aimed to assess the levels of fear, related monkeypox students at Beni Suef University, Egypt, during 2024–2025 academic year. Methods A cross-sectional descriptive design was employed, involving 505 systematically randomized recruited. Data collection utilized three validated tools: Fear Scale, Concern Preventive Practices Scale. Reliability confirmed with Cronbach’s alpha values ranging from 0.87 0.94. analysis included statistics, Spearman correlation, multiple linear regression using SPSS Version 23. Results Most (56.2%) rarely worried about infection, though 49.2% reported anxiety influenced by media coverage. High were noted, 60.6% frequently practicing hygiene measures. strong positive correlation between concern fear ( r = 0.646, p < 0.001) moderate 0.229, 0.001). also significantly correlated 0.432, Multiple (R² 0.216, F 22.633, revealed that predictor practices, while had but non-significant effect (B 0.138, 0.156). Age not significant 0.251, 0.637), whereas family income showed negative association -1.885, 0.010). Conclusion The concerns students, generally high adherence practices. Implication Findings suggest need for targeted education programs address monkeypox-related enhance measures, thus improving readiness respond emerging threats.

Chronic stress and chronic pain share neuro-anatomical, endocrinological, biological features. However, prepares the body for challenging situations or mitigates tissue damage, while is an unpleasant sensation due to nociceptive receptor stimulation. When chronic, it might lead allostatic overload in brain dysregulation of physiological systems that are normally involved adapting environmental challenges. Managing (CP) neurorehabilitation presents a significant challenge healthcare professionals researchers, as there no definitive effective solution these issues. Patients suffering from neurological disorders often complain CP, which significantly reduces their quality life. The aim this narrative review examine correlation between potential negative impact on rehabilitation process. Moreover, we described most relevant interventions used manage population. In conclusion, sheds light connection pathway. Our results emphasize need tailored protocols effectively pain, improve treatment adherence, ensure comprehensive patient care.

Abstract Detecting and responding to threat engages several neural nodes including the amygdala, hippocampus, insular cortex, medial prefrontal cortices. Recent propositions call for integration of more distributed that process sensory cognitive facets related threat. Integrative, sensitive, reproducible decoders detection response safety have yet be established. We combine functional MRI data across varying conditioning negative affect paradigms from 1465 participants with multivariate pattern analysis investigate representations safety. The trained sensitively specifically distinguish between cues multiple datasets. further show many dynamically shift Our results establish integrate circuits, merging well-characterized ‘threat circuit’ nodes, discriminating regardless experimental designs or acquisition parameters.

Abstract Studies of affective neuroscience have typically employed highly controlled, static experimental paradigms to investigate the neural underpinnings threat and reward processing in brain. Yet our knowledge more naturalistic settings remains limited. Specifically, studies generally examine features separately under brief time periods, despite fact that nature organisms are often exposed simultaneous presence for extended periods. To study mechanisms distinct temporal profiles, we created a modified version PACMAN game included these environmental features. We also conducted two automated meta‐analyses compare findings from semi‐naturalistic paradigm those constrained experiments. Overall, results revealed distributed system regions sensitive imminence less related imminence, both which exhibited overlap yet neither involved amygdala. Additionally, systems broadly overlapped with corresponding meta‐analyses, notable absence amygdala findings. Together, suggest shared salience reveals heightened sensitivity toward threats compared rewards when simultaneously present an environment. The broad correspondence consisting tightly controlled paradigms, illustrates how can corroborate previous literature while potentially uncovering novel resulting nuances contexts manifest such dynamic environments.
