Cooking is the most energy-intensive activity in household sector. In developing countries, it accounts for about 90% of total domestic energy use. With this, knowledge its dynamics terms choice and use imperative. This study explored nexus between cooking Kaduna State, North Western Nigeria. A qualitative research approach was employed with aid a structured questionnaire, data collected from 400 households following multi-stage sampling approach. descriptive statistic used to analyze multinomial logit regression model assessing impact factors energy. The results analysis depict charcoal as surveyed area, followed by fuelwood LPG. These choices were mainly influenced cost, accessibility, availability. Furthermore, indicated that significantly such size, income, marital status, age, education, occupation head. findings can be crucial policymakers organizations working towards promoting clean sustainable sources, climate change mitigation, reduction air pollution.

Scientific studies on the impact of wood species solid fuel production, performance, and sustainability are grossly inadequate. The knowledge this is imperative as users fuels increasing rapidly, especially in Africa. On note, it becomes necessary to explore measures that will improve its efficiency an energy source. This study investigates some properties selected used source Nigeria their pelleting potential. Nine samples were characterized assessed for suitability following four pellet quality standards. investigated physical (moisture content density) thermochemical (calorific value, ash content, volatile matter, fixed carbon, ultimate (carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, oxygen, sulfur, arsenic, cadmium, lead)). These because they among most important parameters contained findings revealed a net calorific value between 10.61 MJ.kg−1 Tectona grandis 18.44 Eucalyptus cam. carbon contents range 2.1 24.4%, 65.94 87.77%, 3.51 18.63%, respectively. Anogeissus leiocarpus was found be with best rating score terms properties, while Vitellaria paradoxa lowest. However, conformity standards, Khaya senegalensis, Parkia biglobosa, cam., having presented density, lead within limits considered therefore suggest not all suitable fuel. Thus, do meet standard requirements, alternatives such use biomass blends, additives, or process adjustments can employed adapt standards by using improved cookstoves.
