Multiple factors may influence parental vaccine hesitancy towards pediatric COVID-19 vaccines and routine childhood immunizations (RCIs). Using the United States National Immunization Survey-Child COVID Module data collected from parents/guardians of children aged 5-11 years, this cross-sectional study (1) identified trends prevalence estimates RCIs, (2) examined relationship between (3) assessed in RCIs by sociodemographic characteristics behavioral social drivers vaccination. From November 2021 to July 2022, 54,329 parents or guardians were interviewed. During 9-month period, proportion hesitant about increased 15.8 percentage points (24.8% 40.6%). Additionally, who reported 4.7 May 2022 but returned baseline 2022. Over nine months, parents' concerns infections declined; however, increasingly worried safety overall importance. Furthermore, was more prevalent among White (43.2%) versus Black (29.3%) Hispanic (26.9%) those residing rural (51.3%) compared urban (28.9%) areas. In contrast, higher (32.0%) (24.5%) (23.6%). Pediatric 2-6 times as non-hesitant. This positive correlation observed for all demographic psychosocial unadjusted adjusted ratios. Parent-provider interactions should increase confidence, shape norms, facilitate behavior change promote vaccination rates.

COVID-19 vaccination efforts are critical in mitigating the impact of virus, but despite proven safety and efficacy, rates among children Canada lower than adults, prompting a need to explore determinants childhood non-vaccination improve uptake. This study analyzed data from Canadian Immunization Coverage Survey 2022. Using multivariable logistic regression, it examined association between aged 5-17 factors such as parental sociodemographic characteristics, vaccine knowledge, attitudes, beliefs (KAB), history. The analysis revealed that negative KAB towards vaccines, reflected higher composite scores, significantly increased likelihood non-vaccination. Additionally, household incomes, rural residence, employment sectors not at risk for vaccine-preventable diseases, younger age were associated with also highlighted ethnic disparities odds found incomplete routine vaccinations or inconsistent flu histories more likely be unvaccinated against COVID-19. Abstract Background The objective of this study was to determine the factors associated with low or no parental intention vaccinate children 0-4-years in Canada a COVID-19 vaccine through 2022 Childhood Immunization Coverage Survey (CCICS). CCICS conducted prior introduction and recommendation for age group. Methods Simple multiple logistic regression models were used associations between sociodemographic as well knowledge, attitudes beliefs low/no intentions against among parents 0–4 years. Results Factors included being male (aOR: 2.0; 95% CI: 2.0‒2.1) compared female; 30–39 (aOR 1.1; 1.1‒1.2) 40+; Black 2.3, 2.2‒2.5), East/Southeast Asian 3.6, 3.3‒3.8), having ethnicities 1.3, 1.1‒1.6) White European ethnicity; living rural 2.0, 1.9‒2.1) urban community; total 2021 household income $60,000‒$79,999 CAD 1.4, 1.3‒1.5) $150,000 above; trusting government bodies 2.4; 1.1‒1.2), international media 1.9‒2.2) information about vaccines health care providers. Conclusions findings demonstrate that several impact decision years COVID-19. Future research should focus on barriers vaccination how most appropriately tailor delivery programs specific groups, an effort narrow gap uptake younger children. As well, messaging specifically be targeted who have lower confidence provide correct build trust.
