Numerous studies have investigated environmental risk factors in ADHD, and Bisphenol A (BPA), an endocrine disruptor, is suspected by several reviews. However, the quality of has never been carefully assessed, leading us to rigorously examine associations between BPA exposure ADHD associated symptoms children. Using PRISMA criteria, we conducted a systematic review on MEDLINE/PubMed, Web Science, EBSCOhost, PsycINFO, PsycARTICLES Cochrane databases. We used ROBINS-E tool assess quality, GRADE Approach. This study was registered with PROSPERO, CRD42023377150. Out 10446 screened articles, 46 were included. Unlike pre-existing reviews, most failed find clear links or symptoms, high bias very low level certainty. Our reveals insufficient evidence regarding impact despite some behavioral results that cannot be generalized. Future will require improved consideration confounding more precise sampling methods. did not receive specific funding.

Nuclear receptors (NRs) are ligand-activated transcription factors that regulate a broad array of biological processes, including inflammation, lipid metabolism, cell proliferation, and apoptosis. Among the diverse family NRs, peroxisome proliferator-activated (PPARs), estrogen receptor (ER), liver X (LXR), farnesoid (FXR), retinoid (RXR), aryl hydrocarbon (AhR) have garnered significant attention for their roles in neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer’s disease (AD). NRs influence pathophysiology AD through mechanisms such as modulation amyloid-beta (Aβ) deposition, regulation inflammatory pathways, improvement neuronal function. However, dual role progression, where some may exacerbate while others offer therapeutic potential, presents critical challenge application treatment. This review explores functional diversity highlighting involvement AD-related processes discussing prospects NR-targeting strategies. Furthermore, key challenges, necessity precise identification beneficial detailed structural analysis molecular dynamics simulations, further investigation NR AD, tau pathology autophagy, also discussed. Collectively, continued research is essential to clarify ultimately facilitating potential use diagnosis, prevention, treatment AD.

Anxiety is a multifaceted emotional response exhibited by animals when confronted with potential threats. Among most vertebrates, including mammals and fish, there pronounced sexual dimorphism in anxiety responses, females typically demonstrating higher levels than males. Concurrently, endogenous estrogen levels, specifically 17β-estradiol (E2), are significantly compared to This suggests positive regulatory role of E2 on anxiety, contributing sexually dimorphic fish. To elucidate the mediating male zebrafish ( Danio rerio ) were administered (E2-M), while treated letrozole (LET, an aromatase inhibitor that reduces synthesis, LET-F) for 60 days, plasma brain detected was evaluated novel tank diving test. Females (C-F) showed along elevated cortisol brain, reduced serotonin (5-HT) dopamine (DA) males (C-M). Treatment LET decreased female zebrafish, which corresponded lower increased 5-HT DA content. Additionally, expression genes associated E2, cortisol, 5- HT, pathways relevantly altered. Conversely, treatment (E2-M) content, corresponding changes gene expression. These findings strongly suggest positively regulates responses possibly modulating synthesis action 5-HT/DA brain.
