The necessity for reliable and efficient multifunctional optical optoelectronic devices is always calling the exploration of new fertile materials this purpose. This study leverages exploitation dyed environmentally friendly biopolymeric thin films as a potential absorber in development opto-(electronic) solar cell applications. Uniform, stable chitosan were prepared using spin-coating approach. molecular interactivity between matrix all additive organic dyes was evaluated FTIR measurements. color variations assessed chromaticity (CIE) properties inspected measured UV-vis-NIR transmission reflection spectra. values energy gap Urbach well electronic parameters nonlinear estimated. exploited laser shielding an attenuated cut-off material. In addition, performance absorbing layer with silicon organic/inorganic heterojunction architecture photosensing conversion applicability studied. current-voltage relation under dark illumination declared suitability terms responsivity specific detectivity light sensing such fabrications due to some achieving open-circuit voltage short-circuit current values, where Saf-dyed achieved highest Voc (302 mV) while MV-dyed Jsc (0.005 mA/cm2).
