Thrixspermumtaeniophyllum is described as a new orchid species from Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province of southwest China. It morphologically similar to T.japonicum, but it differs the latter in having branched stems, slightly fleshy strap-shaped leaves, longer inflorescences with 3-6 flowers and capitate gynandrium lip-shaped mouth opening. Its status also supported by molecular phylogenetic analyses, based on nuclear ribosome internal transcribed spacer (nrITS) three chloroplast DNA fragments (matK, psbA-trnH trnL-F), which showed distinct systematic boundaries most T.japonicum their morphological relatives T.saruwatarii T.pygmaeum.

Global biodiversity loss and mass extinction of species have raised serious global concerns, especially in fragile ecosystems. Karst forest, a well-known ecosystem, is served as natural laboratory for biogeographical, ecological, evolutionary, taxonomic research. However, richness distribution patterns karst forests largely remain unclear. Orchidaceae has been regarded the "flagship" group plant diversity. In this study, we use Wanfengshan Nature Reserve southeast Yunnan, China, model to determine conservation status orchids forest by conducting systematic field surveys past three years from 2019 2022. total, identified 78 orchid 35 genera Reserve. The dominant were Bulbophyllum andersonii, Eria coronaria, Nervilia mackinnonii Paphiopedilum micranthum. Multiple life forms also observed, including epiphyte (14.29%), facultative (18.18%), lithophyte (23.38%), terrestrial (44.15%). Orchid showed bimodal pattern varied with altitude, higher was recorded at 1,500–1,600 1,200–1,300 m, while minimum below 1,100 m. Each independent hill rich 'endemic' species. Cymbidium are endangered and ornamental orchids, the taxonomy species identification of this genus have been debated due to some overlapping morphological features between taxa limited data being available. The leaf morpho-anatomy 12 from China was investigated using light microscopy paraffin sectioning. Based on a comparative analysis, that varied were selected used for taxonomic differentiation as follows: (1) shape structure leaves could be delimitation. (2) Microscopic characteristics show lacked trichomes displayed polygonal rectangular epidermal cells both surfaces, with larger adaxial more abaxial stigmata. Stomata mostly distributed only side, but sides in mastersii, which exhibited rare amphistomatic type. stomatal complex uniformly tetracytic 11 species, while it observed anomocytic C. floribundum. (3) Anatomically, two distinct midrib configurations identified, shallow V-shape V-shape. mesophyll homogeneous 10 exception layer parenchyma resembling palisade occurring lancifolium qiubeiense. thickness cuticle surface covered by thicker than displaying either smooth or corrugated surface. A fiber bundle six absent other six. In former group, occurred adjacent mastersii hookerianum, epidermis four species. stegmata, conical, spherical silica bodies, associated bundles seven five (C. kanran, defoliatum, floribundum, lancifolium, serratum). Three kinds crystals namely terete bundle, long tube raphide. (4) It suggested these variable delimitation Cymbidium. addition, key based their morpho-anatomic proposed, lead better understanding conservation Orchidaceae.

The Orchidaceae, which is one of the most interesting families angiosperms, contains a large number rare species. Despite their acknowledged importance, little attention has been paid to study orchids distributed in northern territories. In this study, we determined syntaxonomical diversity and ecological parameters orchid habitats two Europe's largest protected areas, Pechoro-Ilychsky Reserve Yugyd Va National Park (northeastern European Russia), then compared our findings those other parts distribution ranges. For purpose, studied 345 descriptions plant communities (releves) containing species from Orchidaceae defined habitat using Ellenberg indicator values with community weight mean approach, nonmetric multidimensional scaling (NMS), relative niche width. We found that were eight types 97 associations. forest communities. Half under occur mires rock open vegetation. Several consistently areas disturbed by human activity. addition, indicates main drivers across vegetation are light soil nitrogen. Our analysis some can be classified as specialists confined relatively narrow Urals (e.g., Goodyera repens, Cypripedium guttatum Dactylorhiza maculata). (e.g. Neottia cordata fuchsia) grow diverse parameters.
