The genus Nannochloropsis comprises a group of oleaginous microalgae that accumulate polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), especially eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). These molecules are essential for the correct development and health humans animals. Thanks to their attractive lipid profile, is mainly marketed as feed ingredient in aquaculture. In this genus, contents cellular location PUFAs affected by growth conditions gene expression. Strain improvement through non-recombinant approaches can generate more productive strains efficient bioprocesses PUFA production. Nevertheless, lack specific markers, detection methods, selective pressure isolating such mutants remains bottleneck classical mutagenesis or quality assessment during cultivation. This review encompasses importance classes from species potential applications. Additionally, revision different ways increase content sp. using adaptive laboratory evolution also presented, well various methods label quantify lipids microalgae.

Nitric oxide (NO) is a gaseous free radical known to modulate plant metabolism through crosstalk with phytohormones (especially ABA, SA, JA, and ethylene) other signaling molecules (ROS, H2S, melatonin), regulate gene expression (by influencing DNA methylation histone acetylation) as well protein function post-translational modifications (cysteine S-nitrosation, metal nitrosation, tyrosine nitration, nitroalkylation). Recently, NO has gained attention molecule promoting crop resistance stress conditions. Herein, we review innovations from the field nanotechnology on an up-to-date phytopathological background.

Macroalgae (seaweeds) represent a sustainable and alternative source of high-value fatty acids (FAs), including omega-3 (n-3) omega-6 (n-6), which could help alleviate pressure on wild fish stocks mitigate global overfishing. This study analyzed the FA composition field-collected red (Chondracanthus acicularis, Ballia callitriche, Gracilaria sp., Gelidium coulteri), brown (Padina pavonica, Sargassum vulgare, Cystoseira myrica, Dictyota dichotoma, Stephanocystis mundane), green seaweeds (Ulva compressa). Additionally, lipid extraction was optimized using food-grade solvents, reaction temperatures, functional properties selected seaweeds. The results showed that contained higher total content than seaweeds, with favorable n-6/n-3 ratio below 10. species’ (Water- Oil-Holding Capacities, Swelling Capacity) met standards. Ethyl acetate at 60 °C identified as optimal solvent for extraction. Functional varied significantly by species processing conditions, Ulva compressa exhibiting superior Water- Capacities Capacity compared to highlighting its potential food ingredient. These findings support human nutrition.
