Neurodegenerative disorders are distinguished by the progressive loss of anatomically or physiologically relevant neural systems. Atypical mitochondrial morphology and metabolic malfunction found in many neurodegenerative disorders. Alteration function can occur as a result aberrant DNA, altered nuclear enzymes that interact with mitochondria actively passively, due to unexplained reasons. Mitochondria intimately linked Endoplasmic reticulum (ER), ER-mitochondrial communication governs several physiological functions procedures disrupted Numerous researchers have associated these interaction disturbance. In addition, DNA mutation increased ROS production resulting ionic imbalance leading functional structural alterations brain well cellular damage may an essential role disease progression via malfunction. this review, we explored evidence highlighting pathways most serious ailments, including Alzheimer's (AD), Parkinson's (PD), Huntington's (HD).

The COVID-19 pandemic, caused by infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, is associated cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease (AD) progression. Once it enters brain, virus stimulates accumulation of amyloids in brain that are highly toxic to neural cells. These may trigger neurological symptoms COVID-19. meningeal lymphatic vessels (MLVs) play an important role removal toxins mediate viral drainage from brain. MLVs considered a promising target prevent COVID-19-exacerbated dementia. However, there limited methods for augmentation MLV function. This review highlights new discoveries field COVID-19-mediated amyloid development strategies stimulate clearance through other pathways. based on innovative treating dysfunction induced infection, including use photobiomodulation, plasmalogens, medicinal herbs, which offer hope addressing challenges posed virus.

Epilepsy, a complex neurological condition marked by recurring seizures, is increasingly recognized for its intricate relationship with mitochondria, the cellular powerhouses responsible energy production and calcium regulation. This review offers an in-depth examination of interplay between epilepsy, mitochondrial function, aging. Many factors might account correlation epilepsy Mitochondria, integral to dynamics neuronal excitability, perform critical role in pathophysiology epilepsy. The mechanisms linking mitochondria are multifaceted, involving dysfunction, reactive oxygen species (ROS), dynamics. Mitochondrial dysfunction can trigger seizures compromising ATP production, increasing glutamate release, altering ion channel function. ROS, natural byproducts respiration, contribute oxidative stress neuroinflammation, epileptogenesis. govern fusion fission processes, influence seizure threshold buffering, impact propagation. Energy demands during highlight generation maintaining membrane potential. handling dynamically modulates affecting synaptic transmission action potential generation. Dysregulated hallmark contributing excitotoxicity. Epigenetic modifications function through histone modifications, DNA methylation, non-coding RNA expression. Potential therapeutic avenues targeting include mitochondria-targeted antioxidants, ketogenic diets, metabolic therapies. concludes outlining future directions research, emphasizing integrative approaches, advancements ethical considerations. Mitochondria emerge as central players narrative offering profound insights this challenging disorder.

Brain damage is a severe and common pathology that leads to life-threatening diseases. Despite development in the research, medical evidence of effectiveness potential neuroprotective medicines insufficient. As result, there an immense urgent demand for promising medication. For millennia, herbal remedies were fundamental aspect treatments. Combretum micranthum (CM), plant family Combretaceae sub-Saharan Africa, has been utilized folklore medicine cure diverse human ailments. In order develop phytomedicine, current research was undertaken explore antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticholinesterase CM extract.Colorimetric methods used determine antioxidant activity, in-vitro protein denaturation membrane destabilization assays evaluate its anti-inflammatory capacity, activity carried out using Ellman's method, assessed on brain homogenate stressed with ferric chloride ascorbic acid (FeCl2-AA) by assessing lipoperoxidation biomarker malondialdehyde (MDA).In Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (IC50 = 27.15 ± 0.06 µg/mL) Total Capacity 31.13 0.02 µg/mL), extract demonstrated strong activity. Anti-inflammatory effect improved heat-induced Egg albumin BSA (IC 50 46.35 1.53 23.94 1.10 as well heat hypotonia induced 20.96 0.11 16.75 0.94 µg/mL).CM showed 59.85 0.91 µg/mL). ex-vivo model, substantial inhibition (p < 0.001) oxidative caused FeCl2-AA tissue.C. may be good candidate probable potential.
