The small nucleolar RNA (snoRNA) SNORD116 is a non-coding of interest across multiple biomedical fields research. Much the investigation into has been undertaken in context congenital disease Prader–Willi syndrome, wherein expression lost. However, emerging evidence indicates wider roles various and tissue contexts such as cellular growth, metabolism signalling. Nevertheless, conclusive mechanism action for remains to be established. Here, we review key findings from these investigations, with aim identifying common elements which elucidate potential targets mechanisms SNORD116. A recurring element identified disruption insulin/IGF-1 PI3K/mTOR signalling pathways, contributing many phenotypes associated modulation explored this review.

Background: Scoliosis is a condition that can have severe consequences for millions of individuals on an annual basis. Current research in this field increasingly focusing the role immune system development disease. However, precise relationship between immunity and scoliosis remains to be fully elucidated. Method: Our investigation involved comprehensive Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis explore potential causal cells scoliosis. The univariable MR encompassed 731 their with Cochran's Q test, leave-one-out MR-Egger intercept were used assess pleiotropy heterogeneity. We performed multivariable account confounding factors cells. colocalization summary data-based (SMR) utilized cis-eQTL. Results: study identified 13 significantly associated by MR, including four risk nine protective In order reduce cells, was employed, it determined only six cell types had independent effects SERPINH1 shared same variant CX3CR1 CD14- CD16-. Small nucleolar RNAs (snoRNAs) constitute a class of intron-derived non-coding ranging from 60 to 300 nucleotides. Canonically localized in the nucleolus, snoRNAs play pivotal role RNA modifications and pre-ribosomal processing. Based on types they involve, such as methylation pseudouridylation, are classified into two main families—box C/D H/ACA snoRNAs. Recent investigations have revealed unconventional synthesis biogenesis strategies snoRNAs, indicating their more profound roles pathogenesis than previously envisioned. This review consolidates recent discoveries surrounding provides insights mechanistic cancer. It explores intricate interactions within signaling pathways speculates potential therapeutic solutions emerging snoRNA research. In addition, it presents findings long small host gene (lncSNHG), subset (lncRNAs), which transcripts parental SNHGs that generate snoRNA. The functional epicenter is also discussed. Through deconstruction driving snoRNA-induced oncogenesis, this aims serve roadmap guide future research nuanced field snoRNA–cancer inspire snoRNA-related cancer therapies.

Research has shown that small nucleolar RNAs (snoRNAs) play crucial roles in various biological processes, and understanding disease pathogenesis by studying their relationship with diseases is beneficial. Currently, known associations are insufficient, conventional experiments costly time-consuming. Therefore, developing efficient computational methods for identifying potential snoRNA-disease associations. In this paper, a method to identify based on graph convolutional network multi-view attention mechanism (GCASDA) proposed. Firstly, the similarity matrices of snoRNAs calculated entity-related information, weights edges between snoRNA nodes supplemented random forest. Then two homogeneous graphs one heterogeneous constructed. Subsequently, different types embedded features extracted from using specific structure integrated through obtain node feature representations. Finally, each pair nodes, addition global features, interaction passed together multilayer perceptron neural (MLP) Experimental results show GCASDA achieves 0.9356 0.9294 AUC AUPR, respectively, significantly outperformed other state-of-the-art basis evaluation metrics. Furthermore, case study could further demonstrate realistic feasibility GCASDA.
