The global spread of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is concerning for the health humans, animals, and environment in a One Health perspective. Assessments AMR associated environmental hazards mostly focus on parent compounds, while largely overlooking their transformation products (TPs). This review lists TPs identified surface water environments examines potential promotion, ecological risk, as well human using silico models. In this study, a mixed-matrix method was used to prepare PVDF polymeric membranes with different amounts of TiO2 P25 photocatalyst embedded, which were employed in filtration processes the presence UV radiation (LED, peak emission at 375 nm) eliminate two aqueous micropollutants (MPs) as model compounds (venlafaxine and metoprolol). Antidepressants widely occur as emerging contaminants in marine coastal waters, with concentrations reported the low ng/L range. Although at relatively lower levels respect to other pharmaceuticals, antidepressants - fluoxetine (FLX) particular have attracted attention because of their striking effects exerted doses on invertebrates. In this study, four including FLX, sertraline (SER), and citalopram, members selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) class, venlafaxine (VEN) a member norepinephrine (SNRI) were evaluated mussel Mytilus galloprovincialis. addition, two main metabolites FLX VEN, i.e., norfluoxetine (NFL) O-desmethylvenlafaxine (ODV) respectively, compared those parent compounds. Eight each drug (0.5-500 range) tested early life stage endpoints gamete fertilization larval development 48 h post (hpf). Egg was reduced by all compounds, except for VEN. Effluents contaminated with antibiotics must be treated before reuse or even discharge into the aquatic environment, avoiding increase of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) - a major public health problem 21st century. Little is known regarding natural solar photodegradation in tubular reactors operated under flow mode and less concerning application photocatalysts. Antidepressants are emerging contaminants that have raised global concern due to their abuse. Venlafaxine (VFX), a serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, can cause adverse potentially toxic effects on aquatic organisms. Electrochemical advanced oxidation processes (EAOPs) gaining attention as promising degradation techniques for variety of drugs. EAOP methods proposed VFX mainly utilize boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrodes, characterized by low background current high oxygen overpotential. However, challenges arise, including delamination from the substrate, difficulties in scaling up, limited service life. In this study, platinum was employed an anode galvanostatic VFX, its stability well-established surface cleaning procedure, which ensured reproducibility. A 0.1 M Na2SO4 solution at pH 9 used supporting electrolyte, density 25 mA/cm2 applied. After 7 h, efficiency 94% achieved ppm solution. The hydroxyl sulfate radicals generated electrochemical system were active species responsible degradation, followed first-order kinetic model with rate constant 0.0084 min−1. main intermediates identified through LC-MS, two isomers nominal m/z 276 three 294. toxicity products assessed silico prediction model. To investigate the impact of antidepressants (ANT) in water, estimates direct and indirect photolysis standard fluoxetine hydrochloride (FLX) a pharmaceutical alternative, sulfate (FLXSO4), were evaluated.
