Taking advantage of the growing production organic waste for its conversion to waste-to-energy (WtE) also contributes mitigating problems associated with final disposal, which is a global trend increasing application. This work presents an innovative approach identification and prioritization WtE alternatives available from use food (FW) present in municipal solid (MSW) Colombian municipality source separation selective collection: (i) systematic literature review, allows one identify alternatives; (ii) prospective MIC-MAC method (Matrice d’Impacts Croisés Multiplication Appliqués à un Classement) allowed selection criteria sub criteria; (iii) analytical hierarchical process (AHP) technique order preference by similarity ideal solution (TOPSIS), ranking selected considering technical, environmental, social aspects. The technologies identified were anaerobic digestion, gasification, incineration, biogas recovery landfills, pyrolysis; this last was excluded due greater application potential substrates such as plastic waste. six sub-criteria prioritized acceptability (36%), greenhouse gas emissions mitigated (16.17%), MSW reduction (15.83%), energy (13.80%), technological maturity (12.95%), electrical efficiency (5.25%), decreasing preferences digestion (78.2%), gasification (47.5%), incineration (27.4%), landfills (6.6%); latter least desirable alternative (lower acceptance CO2 tons relation other options). nature study consideration comprehensive management type large number (120 52 social, 59 technical) validation results through sensitivity analysis, us confirm study, that most favorable technology treatment FW.

The purpose of this paper is to present the new hybrid multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) method CODAS-COMET for evaluating sustainable electricity generation considering renewable energy sources (RES). introduced approach combines advantages two known MCDA methods: Characteristic Object METhod (COMET) and COmbinative Distance-based ASsessment (CODAS). Due COMET method, proposed enables identification whole domain model, resistant rank reversal phenomenon, easy apply, allows obtain an objective reliable recommendation based on gathered data. Meanwhile, combining with CODAS eliminates limitations by automatizing accelerating characteristic object comparison procedure. presented method's practical application includes Poland's sixteen voivodeships, use RES in domain. An additional contribution research investigate impact results distance metrics other than default metric used that focus demonstrate design a framework selecting most appropriate metrics. A comparative TOPSIS-COMET reference was performed confirm results' reliability. showed high correlation among all final rankings confirmed robustness changing algorithm. Furthermore, proved our suitable valuable tool sustainability assessment domains complex issues requiring consideration multiple criteria.

This research focuses on the implementation of micro-hybrid renewable energy systems (MHRES) in rural Zambia, where a large part population lacks adequate electrical infrastructure. Using multi-criterion decision-making approach (MCDM), specifically Technique for Preference Order by Similarity to an Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) with entropy-weighted method, this aims identify optimal MHRES solution replace dependence wood and fossil fuels. Analysis is carried out 14 scenarios, taking into account technical, economic, social, environmental criteria. The results show that biogas-solar photovoltaic integrated Energy System Power Safe Storage Battery Systems 190 (SBS 190) most visible option, demonstrating relative proximity 0.98556. In contrast, diesel generator-solar PV system least favorable, 0.02576. Validation through convergent distance assessment (CODAS), evaluation based from average (EDAS), weighted aggregate sum product (WASPAS) confirm its robustness. proposed designed meet needs communities using local biomass solar resources, free obstacles high buildings structures. highlights potential promote sustainable development developing countries, providing valuable insights policymakers stakeholders.

Load growth puts pressure on existing electric infrastructure and impacts the system's performance parameters which may necessitate network expansion. Conventionally, expansion is done by building new substations or reinforcing ones with transformers upgrading feeders. However, optimal allocation of combined heat power distributed generators (CHP-DGs) distribution networks (DNs) can be adopted for planning problem. Optimal DG an optimisation problem requires efficient approach. In this paper, improved particle swarm (IPSO) based weighted randomised acceleration coefficient adaptive inertia weight proposed The considered CHP-DGs include internal combustion engine (ICE) fuel cells (FCs) powered biogas obtained from anaerobic digestion food wastes. IPSO tested IEEE 69 bus radial under single multi-objectives considering constant mixed seasonal voltage-dependent load models. Some key findings show that integrating ICE-based operating at factor in winter day voltage dependent base year achieves 97.63 % active loss reduction comparison to 77.14 unity FC-based CHP-DG. Combined heat and power (CHP) based community microgrid using renewable resources such as biogas is gaining fast prominence in municipalities across the world a strategy to decarbonise energy sector brings supply close consumers. But for profitable operation of CHP system, selection suitable prime movers (PMs) very germane. It has become significant issue assess PM alternatives detail from investor's or policy maker's view point. Due varying characteristics each PM, multi criteria decision making (MCDM) techniques could be efficient tools selecting optimal reasonable decision. In this work, four PMs internal combustion engine (ICE), gas turbine (GT), micro-gas (MGT) fuel cells (FCs) are selected with twenty evaluation criteria. The weights evaluated taking cue integration Fuzzy-Best-Worst (Fuzzy-BWM) Fuzzy-Entropy methods fuzzy preference variables. These ranked Fuzzy-Combined Compromise Solution (Fuzzy-CoCoSo) on basis technical, economic, environmental social specifications. Thereafter, results weighting merged by Borda count Copeland ranking strategies. reveal that initial investment cost economic category footprint respectively most least assessment. also revealed FCs sustainable compromise score 2.8053 followed ICE 2.5767. MGT value 2.5541. Furthermore, robustness reliability tested applying sensitivity analysis comparative assessment five existing Fuzzy MCDM methods. This research useful investors makers at planning stage biogas-based microgrid.

Objective weighting methods play a significant role in multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA). Determining weights by decision-makers using subjective is widely used. However, often problematic due to the requirement of expert knowledge correctly assign significance values criteria. Thus, objective techniques show high potential determining criteria weights. This paper presents Python library providing eleven that can be applied with MCDA methods. The presented contains supporting perform complete evaluation any problem, including analytical based on Stochastic Multicriteria Acceptability Analysis method (SMAA), which may alternatively practical usefulness developed demonstrated an illustrative example electric cars assessment. implemented allows for comparative and indicates most frequently top-rated reliable alternatives. Another advantage ability automate decision-making procedure eliminating decision-makers' involvement.
