Green infrastructure (GI) is a fundamental building block of our cities. It contributes to the sustainability and vitality cities by offering various benefits such as greening, cooling, water, air quality, managing carbon emissions. GI plays an essential role in enhancing overall well-being. The utilisation artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for optimisation perceived powerful approach A knowledge gap, nevertheless, remains research on AI-driven tackling climate change. This study aims consolidate comprehension optimisation, particularly methodology adopts PRISMA protocol perform systematic literature review. review results are analysed from six aspects—i.e., objectives, objectives categories, indicators, models, types, scales. findings revealed: (a) was mainly undertaken areas biodiversity ecosystem security, energy efficiency, public health, heat islands, water management; (b) Indicator categories were concentrated indicators related GI, objective, other general/supporting indicators. Based these findings, framework developed enhance understanding process within realm

Coastal regions, increasingly threatened by floods due to climate-change-driven extreme weather, lack a comprehensive study that integrates coastal and riverine flood dynamics. In response this research gap, we conducted bibliometric analysis thorough visualization mapping of studies compound flooding risk in cities over the period 2014–2022, using VOSviewer CiteSpace analyze 407 publications Web Science Core Collection database. The analytical results reveal two persistent topics: way explore return periods or joint probabilities drivers statistical modeling, quantification with different through numerical simulation. This article examines critical causes flooding, outlines principal methodologies, details each method’s features, compares their strengths, limitations, uncertainties. paper advocates for an integrated approach encompassing climate change, ocean–land systems, topography, human activity, land use, hazard chains enhance our understanding mechanisms. includes adopting Earth system modeling framework holistic coupling components, merging process-based data-driven models, enhancing model grid resolution, refining dynamical frameworks, comparing complex physical models more straightforward methods, exploring advanced data assimilation, machine learning, quasi-real-time forecasting researchers emergency responders.

ABSTRACT Green-grey infrastructures' implementation has progressed significantly in cities around the globe for sustainable stormwater management. This review study conducted on green-grey optimization represented recent research trends, existing status, possible gaps, and future directions recommendations needed further improvements. The findings show that infrastructures got significant attention recently (after 2012) because of accessibility to computational resources development hydrological-hydraulic models algorithms. Furthermore, is mostly ten countries including China, USA Iran ranked first three places, respectively, delivering their advantages other with essential awareness knowledge. Most previous studies considered particular quantitative qualitative objectives these were at smaller retrofitting scales, therefore, need expand scope towards socio-ecological consideration larger areas or multi-stage planning, designing, implementation. Moreover, recommended consider stakeholders’ participation preliminary planning designing stages successful management approaches. Lastly, surrogate-based approaches instead traditional methods can overcome burden time future.

Land use allocation (LUA) is of prime importance for the development urban sustainability and resilience. Since process planning managing land requires balancing different conflicting social, economic, environmental factors, it has become a complex significant issue in worldwide. LUA usually regarded as spatial multi-objective optimization (MOO) problem previous studies. In this paper, we develop an MOO approach tackling problem, which maximum economy, minimum carbon emissions, accessibility, integration, compactness are formulated optimal objectives. To solve improved non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm III (NSGA-III) proposed terms mutation crossover operations by preserving constraints on sizes each type. The was applied to KaMavota district, Maputo City, Mozambique, generate proper plan. results showed that NSGA-III yielded better performance than standard NSGA-III. solutions produced provide good trade-offs between This research beneficial policymakers city planners providing alternative plans

Abstract Optimizing the spatial layout of national territory is crucial for realizing transformation and development resource-oriented cities in context high-quality new period. This paper takes Tongling City as a case study, based on analysis historical foundation, then uses SD-FLUS comprehensive model to carry out systematic five dimensions economy, society, population, science technology, resources environment, discusses optimization pattern under contextual simulation. The conclusions are follows: ① hierarchical framework “system-indicator-element” not only internally interconnected, but also inextricably linked with relationship between various categories land use system. ② Decrease cropland, forest, water, grassland, barren decreases from economic development, social progress, there small increase area scenario resource environmental protection, direction change impervious opposite direction. ③ Cultivated retained situ concentrated extent, forested reduced extent while status quo maintained, Yangtze River water system will be protected large part waters Zongyang County give way expansion construction objectives county. Building expanded extended northeast original site area, southwest corner county center some promote county’s development.
